Just about time for a ceremony in the Oval Office or Rose Garden for public presentation of the Soldiers Medal, the highest award for valor outside a combat theater. If it turns out that the shooter was a terrorist (foreign or domestic) someone should be leading the charge to build a new home for this soldier and his fiancée, and I will gladly pitch in generously.

Tires. Got to get the body with the tires. Squished BG's can't return fire.

So this happened early in the week but the news didn't pick it up because it didn't fit there narrative!.
BULL! This happened Wednesday, not early in the week. Local news broadcast that day. Some national news picked it up on Wednesday as well, such as NBC https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/soldier-thwarts-potential-mass-shooting-kansas-bridge-ramming-suspect-vehicle-n1216221

Other news organizations have been picking it up since then.

This is not a story to top the headlines, mostly because so few people were injured. The MSG (military police) did an outstanding job and the shooter was a moron with a poor skill set.

Active Shooter Response- Assess the situation, Position yourself to gain tactical advantage, Engage perpetrator violently (APE). Check. Check. And check. Mission accomplished.

Never bring a gun to a vehicle fight.
After watching the show Hollywood Weapons, if a person has an appropriate firearm and awareness they can win. The likelihood of success for most shooters is low, but not zero. When they tested out some of the Starsky and Hutch stunts the 6" .357 revolver shot through a windshield, through the ballistic dummy, and hit the back windshield. Pretty amazing, and frightening, to see.

That being said, the dead shooter was not capable of winning. He apparently only had rudimentary shooting skills, and no awareness. It's amazing that no one died. I hope the other soldier, who might have been the only target, will survive.
