Greetings everyone,

I have a question about a piece for carrying. I own a model 1917 (brazil contract), and really like it. With a 3" barrel, I think it would make a great carry piece (I like revolvers and the 45 acp cartridge). My question is, is there any advantage of the model 625 over the model 1917? I know a 3" version of the 625 exists, eventually I'm sure I could find one. Other than the heavier barrel on the 625, are the two guns essentially the same? If not, what improvements were made on the 625? Thanks for your time!

Thanks for the information! I was a little worried about the size of the 625, wasn't sure if the N-frame from the 30's was any different from the N-frame from the 90's. I was a little surprised that the model 1917 wasn't really that much bigger than my model 10-10 (which is my current carry piece), that's why I got the idea of it as a carry piece. I guess now the 625 fund begins. Thanks for the tips!

ballpark price?

I know s&w made the 625 with a 3" barrel (model of 1989). Can someone give me a ballpark figure for what these go for? I think they were only made for a couple years, so I know they won't be cheap. I like the 325, but unfortunately I don't think they ever offered it without the integral lock. Thanks for the tips!
