According to New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, the recent terror bombings in Boston require a new interpretation of the Constitution to give the government greater power to protect citizens.

"The people who are worried about privacy have a legitimate worry," Bloomberg said during a recent press conference. "But we live in a complex world where you're going to have to have a level of security greater than you did back in the olden days, if you will. And our laws and our interpretation of the Constitution, I think, have to change."

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

No they don't, our laws and our Constitution do NOT have to change. If you don't like our Constitution, move to a place where your views and beliefs are more in line with their Constitution. And make yourself at home when you get there.

Who needs to fight a war overseas when their are radicals in abundance within our own borders. Yet we should disarm and trust a lying, corrupt politician to protect us? I think not.

Bloomberg should worry about the growing number of criminals who are part of the Mayors Against Illegal Guns.

He needs to go as well as all those other politians who do the same or vote a BILL into law just to see what is in it. WHO VOTES FOR THESE PEOPLE?

Americans Should Be Willing To Give Up Freedom for Security
No. We should not be willing. And in the case of the BOR, those key liberties are specifically PROTECTED against erasure by the temporarily-hired staff we've put in place to aid us in our common governance. Stripping liberties from those who hired them is a clear and present danger against the citizens, IMO.

Depriving me of the ability to withstand predation ahead of my being targeted as a would-be victim helps nobody but the predators. AND it sets the stage for a heavy-handed, fearless governing few to now have zero threat against their predations, to go with their utter lack of compunction. All of that is an exceedingly bad combination.

Our hired folk have all the authority and statutes they need to go after actual crime. We needn't give liberty away in order for crime to be identifiable as such, nor gone after as such.

In short: Bloomers, you can kiss my butt. Keep your hands off my liberties, at your peril.

A lot of people in this country are willing to do that, but not Americans. The politicians are willing to spit in the faces of every American patriot who has defended freedom, shed blood, and died to preserve it. Americans will not dishonor those who fought and died by falling for this BS. Americans will rise and defend their constitutional freedoms like the patriotic men and women have in the past. And if your monitoring this site and you are anti American , don't forget it!

^^^^YEP^^^^^^^^^^^

I think anything with the Bloomberg stamp of approval should cause most average Americans, (even those who are not even paying that close attention to what is going on in politics) to run the other way.
I think the people of NYC and NYS are growing weary of this clown and his buffoonish antics, rhetoric and stupidity.

Funny thing is that they do not change much for the rich and powerful. No TSA pat downs when you board your private jet. No metal detectors when you enter the building you own.

I luckily left Brooklyn, NY at the right time (1990). I moved my young family to Texas. When we decided to move, I did not have any definite plans. I didn't have a job waiting for me, I went out and found one. The opportunity was there. I was financially doing OK in NYC but not great. Texas had opportunity, NYC just had their hands in my pockets. (I worked for 4 years out of Edison, NJ. Those years i had to pay an additional $250.00/year in commuter TAX to NJ. On top of FED, NY State & NY City Tax)

Who will protect us from the government, Mayor Bloomberg? You are yet another traitor attempting to subvert the constitution, directly violating your oath of office.

If you want to amend the constitution, do so through the amendment process. Anything else is "infringement" and contrary to your oath.

I wonder if that idiot Bloomberg would be willing to give up his First Amendment right to free speech to protect the rest of the country from his idiotic, stupid, elitist statements? Same goes for "Shotgun" Joe. I think not! Citizens should NEVER give up Freedom for Security! Subjects may be willing to do so, but not citizens! And I consider myself a CITIZEN, not a "subject"!

Bloomberg requires a 12+ man security force 24/7 that carry high capacity magazines, that should tell you how well he is liked. He is also a first class hypocrit, he wants us to give up our 2nd Amendment rights but he will retain his security force even after he leaves the office of mayor.......
