Just curious to see exactly how many ammo makers there are - in case I have forgotten some. I am thinking here of handgun/rifle mainly and not considering milsurp either. Do correct me or fill in gaps.

I can think of right now - (probably will forget some - plus there is overlap with names - some being common to a single source). -

Winchester (Olin Corp) - including WWB
Remington - by name
UMC (was Union Metallic Cartridge) but this is Rem yeah?
Federal - included American Eagle (and Champion 22's).
CCI - Blazer etc - numerous others
Speer - Gold Dots etc
Hornady
MagTech
PMC
Sellier and Bellot (S&B)
Fiocchi
Eley - 22's
Aguila - 22's
Hirtenburger
PCA
Russian - Barnaul, Wolf etc

Amerc - let's not waste time on that!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What have I left out or got wrong?
Oohh - thx Euc - I had quite forgotten about the specialist guys - I think there are one or two more too.
I should have also included Lake City in first post - all 100's and 100's of acres of manufacturing facility. I know I will have left out quite a few.
Remington does own UMC but they are still sold separately.
Then there are the real specialty guys like MagSafe &
Cor-Bon/Glaser/PowerBall (all one company) and then there is RBCD out of San Antonio, TX.
Also I think Lazeroni makes it's own unique propietary ammo for it's unique calibers: 7mm WARBIRD or the like.
Are you including companies like Georgia Arms, that manufacture ammo, or excluding them because they are assembling other manufacturer's parts?
Good point Tom - I'll include any yes - just leaving out milsurp.
Trying to get the full/bigger picture of what is out there these days. Thx.
Great HG - thx. I always think of him for special brass etc but yeah - the complete ammo too. Excellent - helps fill more holes and finally we'll have pretty much nailed the lot.
Useful reference.
