I know it sounds crazy, I noticed some shotgun loads have a garlic smell, whats up with that? My only guess is that someone smelted the lead in cast iron that was once used for cooking.
I've never noticed any smell on shotshells but blackpowder rifle and pistol cartridges are loaded with Non-petroleum grease. the petroleum grease combines with sulfur to make a asphalt like fouling when fired. The easiest to get Non-petrol grease is Bacon grease! And you can definitely smell the bacon cooking when they are being shot! it makes me hungry every time! DR
