Hi all, just registered. Found the forum through Concealed Carry magazine.

I'm relatively new into guns (a little over 6 months I think) and have fallen hard for the hobby! I have a mess of CZs right now but am starting to look for my first 1911, which is a daunting task due to the sheer number of them out there, it's confusing. I'm sure in the end I'll wind up with more than one :)

Awaiting my carry permit. Too many message forums to keep track of, but this one looks like a great resource specifically for CCW so glad to be here.

Welcome to the forum, ManChicken. Glad you found us and you might want to cover the threads in "Concealed Carry Guns" for 1911 information. Might give you some ideas about guns you want to check out more closely.

Thanks for the welcome guys! Looking forward to 1911 shopping. Was eyeing some in Gander Mountain today but was in a rush to get to the range before the closed, didn't have time to fondle anything.
avoid gander, they are fairly pricey. Jensen arms in loveland has about the best pricing i've seen in CO for most firearms.

google for their website, they arent hard to find.

Welcome & Thanks For Registering.
We'll help you find that perfect first 1911 !!!

Should we even ask how you picked the name ManChicken???
Not that I'm overly curious or anything.

Yeah, was just at Gander with a friend who was picking up some ammo. Would not normally buy there, just browse (I don't exactly live close to them either anyway).

The name 'ManChicken' is a bit of a joke, taken from a politically-incorrect old web cartoon called Mr. Wong. Although I realized (a bit too late) when registering on my first firearms forum that it has a bit of an alternate meaning in this context  But the name is sort of funny so I don't care.

I'll second that. Been looking for a Kimber Ultra CDP and found Jensen to be the best on price. When I went up to buy one, they were out. While I've been waiting for it to come in, there's been a few minor snags and they've been great working through them. I certainly can not fault their customer service, it's top notch. I've been treated very well each time I've been in (which is not overly often as I live south of Denver and it's a small drive to get there).

Nope, not affiliated with them in any way, just a satisfied customer.

Actually, when I bought my Kimber Ultra CDP I searched high & low including Jensens. I found the best deal at The Gun Room in Lakewood...they were willing to deal with cash.
