This past Friday, I took one of my karate buddies shooting with me. His only previous experience (in his 21 years) with firearms was one short skeet-shooting trip some time ago. Going with me and my main shootin-buddy gave him the opportunity to fire a variety of pistols--.22 revolver, 9mm & .40 caliber Glocks, .357 revolver, a couple of 1911's, and a .45 Colt Peacemaker. 5 or 6 rifles (including an SKS and a Cetme), and a couple of shotguns. I also gave him the "crash-course" in action-types, basic firearms design, a little history & development, and a rundown on the laws regarding purchase and carry. He was like a little kid at Christmas! In fact, when we got back to my house, he asked me if he could borrow a stack of my American Handgunner and Guns back-issues so he could learn more about guns. Shooting is like drug-use...once you've had a good taste, you're hooked
BTW: his favorite was the 1911 .45...smart guy
