Post the pics, I love to see a well designed range. I have been ruminating about buying or building one when I retire which is a few years away.Originally posted by Scott
Thanks Bumper. It\'s taken about 8-9 years to get it where it is. This is the club I\'m the current president of, and was the range chairman at one point. There is sound proofing in the roof, the side walls are filled with gravel, and there a benches you can sit at or stand as we are in the photo.
It is basically in a pit so the wind isn\'t bad and inside the range house you are well protected from the elements. We have plans to concrete the floor and a few other improvements, but it is a pretty good facility. The key thing with houses within about 100yds we have a very safe range. I could post some down range photos and you would see no sky anywhere from any shooting position. The only way to get a bullet off our range is to do it intentionally.
I like those kinds of ranges. If my buddy moves down that way I may have to go down and check it out.Originally posted by armoredman
Bumper, that\'s the little known, hard to find, primitive and cheap Tuscon Mountain Park range, on the south side of the Tucson Mountain Park, a nice public park. Pit toilets and no water on site, but never full. $4 a person to shoot all day, too...![]()
