Well, it's a step in the right direction anyway..........

This new Arkansas law has finally defined what a journey is, when pertaining to the carrying of a firearm while traveling in Arkansas. A person is on a journey, when he or she is beyond the county in which the person lives, unless the person is eighteen (18) years of age or less, or a prohibited person; a journey will begin and end at place of residence.

This law will go into effect this summer and will allow a person to carry a hand gun while on a journey; all carry restrictions (prohibited areas) that apply to concealed carry will apply. This is great news as it allows honest citizens to carry a handgun in their car and or on them while traveling in the state; it's basically unlicensed concealed/open carry for all non prohibited citizens.

Awesome...

This new state Congress is knocking it out of the park on a regular basis...

Guess that's what 138 years of "the other side" being in control will get you!

Don't guess it matters much to those of is who are already licensed to carry in all of Arkansas, but it's definitely got positive vibes.

Could someone please clarify this to me? After reading it, it doesn't sound like it means anything close to unlicensed carry. Basically my interpretation is they are saying it's still legal to take your handgun in your vehicle to go to the range and/or hunting like as was already legal.
