I read a while back about people that carry while at home. Since it is your duty to defend your home, how many of you carry while at home? As I write this I have my HK USP45 in my Blade-Tech IWB. Comfy for around the house :)

Living in dirty jersey right now, home is the only place I can carry so I do. I think it's good just to carry, plus it keeps me comfortable with it so when I go back to PA (couple times a month) it's not awkward.

Always carry at home. Right now gun of choice is H&K USP 9mm. Walk with it on, mow the grass with it on, sit around with it on.

When I get home from work (and I dont plan on doing anything afterwards), I carry my 5" Kimber or G17 in a Fobus Paddle. As much as I like my kimber, its normally the glock. Mainly becasue I dont worry about it rusting when I leave it on the back of the throne while I'm in the shower, and I'm quicker with it out of its Fobus holster than I am my Kimber and its fobus holster.

Otherwise (take now for example), I have my 5" kimber in my MS SS-II, since that's my daily carry gun. When I do have things to do after work, it goes on with the clean clothes, shorty after my shower.

Most know - my carry is surgically attached - all waking hours!

Around house and down yard in office I am mostly open carry when hotter weather but I have said often - my basic premise is that the piece must be there at all times, like a watch. It would little use if, the unexpected occurred and I'd decided to leave it off, "just for a while".

It is very much an ''all-or-nothing'' commitment, simple as that. No paranoia and every chance (I hope) it will never be drawn in anger but - for that outside chance it will be where I expect it, any and every time.

Always in my Beltster or on the table next to me. Like Chris said, it's like my watch. GF used to think I was crazy or paranoid, now it's just another thing around whenever I am.

Home Carry

It depends on what I'm wearing, which depends on the temperature my wife selects. If it's cool, I'm carrying a Taurus 605 in .357. Moderate temperatures call for the P3AT and higher temps mean one of the NAAs is with me. My responsibility is to protect my family and that includes at home.

call me lazy, but i dont "carry" at home. Instead, i have my glock 17 on my night stand, the AK loaded in the closet, and if i am downstairs (live in a 2 story apartment), i'll leave my glock 26 on the tv table while i cook or watch the boob toob. Once i leave the house, the glock 17 goes into the gun safe, the glock 26 goes into a pocket holster in my jeans or if i am in shorts or sweats, a fanny pack.

I carry all the time too....usually my Kahr PM9, but my home defense Beretta 92G Vertec (with 43 rounds of Speer 124 grain Gold Dot JHP's) and my Saiga 12 gauge are not far from me.

The only time I am not carrying is when I walk through the gates at work (unfortunately). I carry, my girl carries, and all my kids can shoot (6, 9 and 11). As a matter of fact I would put my 11 year old daughter up against any person with our AR-15. I;m convinced she is unstoppable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
