Thought I was ok for issue of CCW permit in KY, but State Police turn up "on NCIC" an old (1960) USAF court martial I had for "wrongful appropriation of government property". On NCIC no less! A guy who worked for me and I used less than $200 in unit funds to throw a keg party and the CO went ballistic. I took the hard fall, short time, reduction in rank, but went on to serve 2 more years and got out with an Honorable and stayed in Reserves for 2 more years. Anyone know how, short of hiring a DC lawyer, I can get that taken out of the NCIC. It looks like it might keep me from getting the CC permit.

Hummmmmmmm.........

You used OUR Taxpayer Dollars To Buy Beer? :nono:

You owe us all a Cold One!:biggrin2:

1960 ??? I would appeal it. You should have no trouble getting that erased.
You had an Honorable Discharge & still got "stuck" with that? Weird.

Well, that sucks. Hope you can get it cleared up. You may need to get it expunged from your record.

Sounds to me like my tax dollars went to good use, for a change! :yup:

In any event, it sure sounds like an overly-zealous application of the law, to me. Then again, I do live in the "Gunshine" state.

Just doesn't seem right to deny based on ancient history, 'specially for a non-violent offense.

Really, look into whatever appeal process that exist. Who knows, maybe all it will take is a review and not require a lawyer. (Well, it could happen!)

Best of Luck!

That sucks beyond belief. 1960 ?? Sheesh!!

You must do whatever it takes - for this trivial piece of ''dirt'' on you to preclude a CCW is just ludicrous. Most sorry to hear of it and hope it can (as it should be) resolved.

i would think the va could possibly help with this , if nothing else ask at the closest va hospital about advocate groups , they might not be the right ones but would be a starting place to find out where / how to go .

Well, not to be the downer but you did make your own bed.

Any military conviction, even NJP (Art 15, Captain's Mast, Office Hours, whatever) is a Federal conviction with a Federal record.

We tell young Soldiers all the time that this stuff will follow them the rest of their lives, and they don't believe it.
