I am reading a requirement for holsters to be used at International pistol shooting confederation world championship in august of 1977 held in then Salisbury,Rhodesia.
All holsters must be able to retain weapon while doing a backward flip without the weapon falling out of holster. If pistol falls out during the backflip the weapon must be retained with a strap during the competition.
I wonder how many of todays fancy leather holsters could pass this test without the strap.
Thats the beauty of the non-leather holsters like Comp-Tac and others that you can adjust to retain you'r weapon.
Team Results from 1977 shooting confederation world championship
1. Rhodesia 8,776
2. United States of America 8,735
3. South Africa 7,808
4. Great Britain 7,437
5. West Germany 6,941
6. Belgium 6,465
Individual Standings
1. Dave Westerhout 1,960.433 Rhodesia
2. Peter Maunder 1,844.030 Rhodesia
3. Raul Walters 1,802.289 United States of America
Many other listed on page 51 of March 78 Soldier of Fortune
