Belt Help.

Im in the process of putting together my CCW setup. So when i get my license in the mail I'll be good to go!
I see a few posts about asking about a good "ccw belt". I'm kinda big (6'1 300lbs) and my waist is at 44-46.
So finding a belt that fits sometimes is tough. My holster of choice i think will be this blackhawk.
It really seems like a good choice for me.

I'm wondering if you guys know of a belt that would work for this holster and be "ccw grade".
I was just going to use my current belt which is a leather "weave" style multi setting belt. But, if you guys have better suggestions please let me know.

Thanks a hole heep mon!

Good news: Belts that are CCW grade are typically custom made, so getting one on your size the right width isn't hard at all!

Brommeland, The Belt Man, Simply Rugged, any other premium holster maker, Wilderness Tactical... they'll all make belts to fit.

For something quick and not too expensive I'd get a belt from Wilderness Tactical. Be sure to get the 5 stitch option, then later on pick up a leather belt.
Brommeland is your man for both leather and the Wilderness belts.

I fully recommend a gun belt made by a custom makes for the purpose of CCW. The belt you own now isn't even close to the quality or thinkness of a custom made by Brommeland or the like. Thses belts makes all the difference in the world for carry.

The Belt Man is also very good and generally has a pretty good turn around time also.

Give us some websites please! I'm looking too!
I use a Galco tapered dress belt. Its awsome, looks shart and is stiffned with a lining. For dress type situations you might look into that.
I use the 5-stitch instructor's belt. Great product:

Also, I ordered my belt 4" larger than my waist size and it fits perfectly with my G19 IWB in a C-TAC.
I ordered one from The Beltman and it is top quality. His website is http://www.thebeltman.net/products.htm

You also might try one from Kevin at http://www.kdholsters.com/

I chose the cop 11/2 and like it
I have used Belts from Dillon and Safariland in the past, but I'm currently in a Galco tapered phase of life. I just decided to make my holster and mag carry an ensemble in the "concealable" model. Very classy and "rich" looking in the Havana Brown!

Lightning Arms carries Milt Sparks, Lou Alessi, Galco and Wilderness Tactical gear. Good folks with fast delivery.
Note: I believe Gary B. has decided not to stock the Wilderness belts but that may have changed since I last spoke with him.

Your weave belt will not get it done. BTDT hated it. Get a belt designed for a holster. They have a cant built in to them to make carrying much better and easier. Also be sure to get the width belt closest to the loop size of your holster. This will help with shifting. So you will want to see what size loop your pants are (1.5" is pretty common) and get a holster and belt that will match up to that pretty close.

I'm wearing a Galco right now. They go to 50" without having to custom order them. Whatever you go with you should probably go up one size. The holster will take about an inch of your belt. For example I wear 38" waist pants, but have a 40" belt. This allows me to stay in the middle hole of the belt with a holster.

All the suggestions are quality belts and should serve you well. I have to dress on the nicer side so a Wilderness belt doesn't fit my needs, so I cannot comment on it, but others love them.

Howdy!
I would also have to agree that given your holster choice, a Wilderness 5 Stitch instructors belt would be optimal.
Maclean3 is correct - I am not stocking Wilderness products. However, I can recommend Lightning Arms as a resource. Good luck!

I chose the concealable also, really like the cant on it, but seems to ride lower on belt than my Bianchi did.
I use the Kydex/leather belt from Looper Leather here in Oklahoma City. Very durable and will not stretch out or sag, mine hasnt in a year! here is a link to their site, it says it is for commerical use but the contact info is there.

I'm a big guy also (6'8" 295lbs). I purchased a belt from www.copquest.com this is the link, it's a really nice belt very rigid and comfortable. I can wear it all day, with either my G-22 or my Ruger P345PR, or my Baby Eagle .45. I highly recomment, and the price is right...$37.40 which included shipping.

How much bigger do most of you other guys go with? I only went with a 34 size belt for my 33 waist. I kind feel like I should have gotten it a little bigger. I think "the belt man" allows for choice in distance between holes (custom pick the sizing)...:yup:
It all depends on how you'll be carrying (OWB vs IWB). If you plan on carrying IWB, you will need more length to go around the holster and gun in pants. I even found I need to buy my pants a waist size larger than normal. If you have your gun and holster already and plan on carrying IWB, best bet is to measure your length with the rig on. I normally wear size 34 to 36 pants, my Beltman belts are size 39. If you plan on wearing OWB, you won't need that extra length. Hope this helps.
Thanks guys for all the links. I have checked out most of them and think there are some great belts to pick from. I might stick with that holster i pictured in the post or i might go with the Hume "agent". Its basicly the same design but the belt loops dont snap together like the first one. That was starting to worry me because over time thouse loop snaps might get worn and when i need to draw im afraid i might pull the holster out too hahah but the agent holster doesnt have the snaps and its the same design. so i might go with that one. But the only downfall is from the website i see it on it doesnt say with the max belt width it can take is. so ill have to do some research! thanks again guys!
Opps i found it. The Agent holster takes 1.75" belt max!

Now off to find a belt that is that width in my size!

Give The Belt Man a try.
Very happy with mine. Two week turn-a-round.
