Here's a question about a belt I am trying to find.

For lack of a better description, it's like the one that 'Walker, Texas Ranger' wears on the tv shows.

Western style black leather, silver slip through buckle, silver tip and silver belt loop.

I want something thick enough to wear everyday for concealed carry, but with the above style. Kydex or polymer insert might be nice also.

Can anyone point me in a direction ?

I sure would appreciate any links in this direction !

Thanks in advance, :congrats:

Ranger Belt..........Addition:

You can search Ebay for Ranger Belt ~ Ranger Buckle ~ Sterling Belt Buckle ~ Western Belt Buckle ~ etc.

Often they have REALLY nice Solid Silver Buckle sets.
You can also try searching for Rodeo Belt Buckle since some sellers mix up the name.

They get pretty steep bids sometimes for the really nice Matching Buckle sets ~ Belt Tip ~ & Keepers.

You can find the Steerheads with the rubies set in the eyes & super nice combination Gold & Silver. Watch out for the silver plated ones though.

Make sure they're stamped STERLING.

You know Gary I really get thrilled when you do your posting and dont mention that you may/may not make such an item. Thats real stand up.

For a Ranger Belt you can find one as easy as at your local western wear store or police supply store. I know my Don Hune has stood up to daily wear for over 10 years and it was just recently replaced.

Good luck ya'al.

Thanks for the leads, folks. I do appreciate the info.

I have already looked at western wear stores, just didn't think the leather was as thick and sturdy as one made by a gun/holster maker. I also want something fairly plain, don't care too much for all the fancy concho's, etc.

fed_wif_a_sig,

I totally agree with you about Gary ! His web site was one of the first I looked at in this quest for a belt, but the 'Ranger' style of belt is not listed on his site. I also corresponded by e-mail with Gary a week ago when I inquired about a holster. After reading so many good reviews here, I'll probably go with the Max Con V, but because of recent hip surgery, I need to try out an IWB model before I actually place an order. It might be too uncomfortable with a recent scar right where the holster/gun would be.

I currently use a Galco side snap scabbord for my Kimber Ultra Carry. After reading a lot of posts by some very knowledgeable people here (including Gary), I've been thinking that a better grade of belt would be a good idea.

Checking with Don Hume on their Officer's Belt (B112), they are out of stock on the size I need and the wait is 4 to 6 weeks.

Thanks to unformation posted here, I have a place located that can make a Ranger belt for me just like I want. A return e-mail from www.Durangosaddle.com this morning said the turnaround time for a plain finished black belt would be 2 to 2 1/2 weeks.

What width do y'all fancy for gun carry ? 1 1/2 width or 1/3/4 ? I measured the belt loops on jeans and on the Galco side snap scabbard, looks like 1 3/4 would work, but that might not be the best for dress slacks, etc.

Opinions ?

With jeans, which is what I wear most of the time, I wear a 1-1/2" belt. With suits, slacks and khakis I wear a 1-1/4" belt.

Dockers will handle a 1 1/2" belt, so will Sans-a-Belt dress slacks. I have gotten used to checking the belt loops on pants before I buy. I will not buy any that will not easily accomodate my 1 1/2" belt.

Thanks again everyone !

I settled on a 1 1/2 inch wide plain black ranger belt from Durango leather:

http://www.dgunleather.com/dutygear/belts/belts.html

Made and delivered in 2 to 2 1/2 weeks, total cost of $106.00

Now on to my next project..... a new Para Ordinance 45 ACP with a 3 1/2 inch barrel. Time to go study the different models !

I like my Kimber Ultra Carry II just fine, but I'm kinda leaning towards a double action 45. As an old wheel gunner, I tend to favor DA a little more.

Decisions, decisions......
