i just got this rig but when i holstered my 642 the elastic webbing tore:

Its a Red Nichols design and a great design it is, does anyone know of a place that carries 2" heavy duty elastic webbing?

Thanks in advance.

i didn't think it was doable until i read this statement made by Red on a different forum " a shoe repair shop will have what's called a patch machine to sew it into position - these sew in any direction whilst inside the article." So i guess i need two things that piece of webbing and a shoe repair shop that has that device.

You are lucky. The last shoe repair shop near me closed about a year ago.

i can remember when i was growing up you'd see fix it shops run by real live fix it people that knew how to fix things and fix them right but in this remove & replace world of today those master craftsman are becoming a vanishing breed. i found a couple of 2" coyote brown elastic nylon webbing strap keepers online that might work, only that repairman will know for sure.
