This past Sunday, my buddy called from the Salem VA gun show and said they have .45 acp. Due to the record snow fall there was no one there. I told him to buy me as much as he could. Well today he dropped off 4500 rounds of 230 gr ball ammo. He kept an additional 500 rounds for himself as he scored about 1500 rds about 2 weeks ago.
LIFE IS GOOD!!! until my wife sees the check I wrote. There will be no birthday present or happy faces after the bank statement come in Jan. At least I came claim a gas and car wear savings by not having to go to WW every week and come home empty handed and mad. The ammo looks good in the gun room. I feel all warm and fuzzy but that feeling will leave in a few weeks.

$320/1000 out the door. They even helped my buddy load his jeep. Plus gave him some ammo cans for storage. There was no one at the show - 1st time we have found any ammo at any local show that was not over priced.

Nice score! Last show I was at, there were 2 ammo dealers. For price comparisons, one had $23 boxes of WWB for $56, the other had $23 of WWB for $23. Sounds like you did good on the .45!

YUP! Should hold me until late spring if I survive my wife finding out!
Ok, your ONLY option now (and you're short on time) is obviously to buy her a .45 as a holiday gift and tell her that the ammunition is for BOTH of you.

For pointers, see the episode of the Simpsons where Homer buys Marge a bowling ball with his name already inscribed on it.
