Hello to all. I like the layout of this site and may become a regular visitor. I am a concealed carry license holder.

I have enjoyed shooting many calibers and firearms over the years. I spent time in the Army Infantry, Security and Bodyguard industries.

Although I have several firearms, my current interest is in concealed carry especially getting used to smaller handguns. In the 80's I carried large frame revolvers and autos in shoulder holsters and duty holsters.

About a month ago, I picked up a Smith & Wesson MP9 Shield, OWB and IWB holsters from Alien Gear. My opinions on all 3 are very high.

Just as a point of reference; I am in my 50's, 6' tall, and of heavy build. Not a Spring Chicken but more of a grumpy old bear.

One more thing that may be of interest; I am a Ride Captain with the Ohio Patriot Guard / Patriot Guard Riders. Some of the military veterans and first responders on this site will be aware of these organizations. I am always willing to answer questions and/or assist individuals who are in need of the services we offer.

I look forward to interacting with the community on this site.

I have friends in Louisville and Brandenburg. I have enjoyed a couple vacations in KY. Love the Bourbon Country and visited a couple distilleries the last time down there a couple months ago. We stayed at the Dale Hollow Lodge, beautiful area!

It's awesome running into Ohioans right off the bat. I used to be heavy in the Bass Fishing industry and was on a lot of fishing sites. It sucked when there weren't many folks from Ohio to talk bassin'.

I am in Central Ohio as well, Gforty. Grew up in Columbus but have been in Dublin since '98.

Welcome BlaiseJ and greetings from the great state of Texas. It sounds as if you have lots of experience. I think we could all benefit from your knowledge, so visit often and join in the discussions. I am not familiar with the orgs. you mentioned but it sounds like they are really great. I'll do some research on them. Thanks for your military service to our country. We have another "Bear" here, you'll fit right in. There are also lots of good folks here from all over. Glad to have you amongst us.

To make it easy on you, check out patriotguard.org. You may have seen the PGR escorts on the freeways in Texas or on the news. Usually bikes with Old Glory flying. There are many members down there and they are extremely active. I hope to schedule a vacation to Texas in the next couple years and plan to meet some of my brothers while down there. I have quite a few as FB friends.

Well, I used to live near Ohio, does that count? Up the road in Detroit. LOL! At any rate, welcome to the forum from North Carolina.

I have run into a few and even have one as a FB friend. I found out last week that an old buddy's daughter named her new baby son after me. It's unique and has served me well for 53 years.

Tell your brother I said hello.

I promise to hold true to the "Golden Rule", except for those from Kansas.

I understand why you must have started carrying, having lived in Detroit. My sister raised her family while bouncing around Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, and Chelsea. My wife and I have considered moving to North Carolina. Nice area of the country.
