This won't be good for gun owners nationally if they manage to pull this off.

Bloomberg-Founded Gun Control Group Pledges $8M to Turn Texas Blue

Mike Bloomberg-founded Everytown for Gun Safety is spending $8 million in hopes of turning Texas blue in the November 2020 elections.

KRGV reports that Everytown already pledged the money and will, this Thursday, name “three staffers to help with its Texas campaign.”

Everytown senior political adviser Charlie Kelly commented: “[Texas is] clearly emerging as a top battleground state – there’s just no question about it – and it’s why we’re investing $8 million in the state this cycle. Between the investment and our network of 400,000 grassroots supporters, our goal is to do whatever it takes to elect gun sense candidates up and down the ballot in the state.”

He's had success with this in other states so he will continue his campaign. He has a lot of resources to throw at his cause.
Yes, he does.

He is a scourge on America.
You won't get any argument from me on that. He's right up there with Soros, Clinton, Obama, Holder, Jarrett, Comey, Strzok, Page, etc.

The real Bloomberg came to light during his short-lived, hi-dollar presidential run. Hundreds of millions of dollars, next to no popular support. Hopefully, enough will see through his revision to old tactics for what they are. Support gun rights wherever you live, whatever he , his cohorts and underlings do.

Hopefully all the gun rights groups can match his 8 million to counter his message.
Not sure his campaign will be successful down here.
If he wants it to work he would be better off financing more Yankees and left coasters to move here.
You will not convince most Texans to give up their guns, but you can dilute us enough with liberals to change Texas.

Yes, money and advertisement doesn't equal winning by any means. Bloomberg was barely a blip on the Democrat radar screen during the primaries earlier this year. I think I heard that he spent over a billion...all for nothing.

It's going to be a struggle this election but I'm hoping for a Red sweep across the country.

Don't forget he sends money to Governors who want gun control along with mayors and other state offices, case in point Ca, Or and Washington state. His group helps the push to not recognize other state permits so when you vote watch the RINOS because they are selling us out as can be seen in the FOI folling the money.

"Between the investment and our network of 400,000 grassroots supporters..."

The population of Texas is approx. 29,000,000
Best estimates of gun owners in Texas are 35% - 42%

Using the low estimate of 35%, there are over 10,000,000 gun owners in Texas. Not favorable math for Bloomberg.

Estimated 120 million gun owners in the US. If we could get every one to thrown in their pocket change we could outspend Bloomy by 10 to 1.

I pledge $100 now, knowing that it is unreasonable to expect every gun owner to reach into his pocket for a campaign in Texas.
That's not how the money gets spent. And interestingly, the budgets for both parties in TX are significantly smaller than they were in VA, so $8 million is a bigger percentage of the spend that it was in VA. The money gets focused to get RINOs to back off, destroy the reputations of real conservatives and to promote democrats in the media.

Make no mistake: The other side is good at this. They don't always win, but they win a lot. Texas is not immune. The response to this has to be to get out the conservative vote. With no more than 60% of voters turning out for any election, often much less than that, there is a lot of room to beat them with political activism. If even a few percent of conservative voters who would have otherwise stayed home actually voted, the liberals would not stand a chance. They are counting on our apathy.
