Gun control ads have Democrats worrying

By JOHN BRESNAHAN and REID J. EPSTEIN | 5/7/13 4:59 AM EDT

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s aides met recently with staffers of New
York Mayor Michael Bloomberg to warn them: Targeting vulnerable Democrats
like Arkansas’s Mark Pryor on gun control could backfire on the party,
several sources told POLITICO.

“If the Democrats want to lose control, just go and support people killing each other with handguns on the streets, and the handguns in the hands of criminals and people with mental problems,” Bloomberg said at press conference Tuesday, as reported by Capital New York. Bloomberg continued: “If the Republicans want to win the Senate, what I would do is, I’d go out there and I’d say, ‘We support the Second Amendment, but we don’t want guns in the hands of criminals and people with mental problems. Period. That’s just dangerous. Whether you’re a gun owner or not.’”

FWIIW, I think his dishonor from NYC is making a tactical mistake / misread of the politics of other States.

FWIW, I agree with you. He's pouring money into Colorado protecting some of his minions from recall, and it is not setting well with the locals. Particularly after one of his minions (Morse) whined about out-of-state money throwing a monkey wrench in the marijuana wars. Morse = Two Faced goober jut like Bloomberg.

He reminds me of the Captain (Humphrey Bogart) in the Movie Cain Mutiny.

I know LOONBERG was a Republican when he initially ran for mayor of NYC and then became a Independent. Has he crossed over to Democrat now?? What's next?? He he reviving the Wig Party next?

Loonberg is a "rich kid" with no wife and apparently no life outside of the office he bought for himself.

Sounds like the demoncrats cant control Bloomberg. He has become a rogue caring only about his agenda.
He fails to separate the agendas of blue collar dems from pseudo commie socialists from tree hugging peace sign wearing hippies. Once they (Bloomberg, Barry Sortoro, Feinswine) start going after the blue collar dems, they will trip all over themselves. I say, let them have at it. Infighting can only strengthen our base.

I must agree with you, Sir. It is useless, because they don't listen to their constituents. Childish? Maybe so, but no one has any difficulty understanding me or the points I make, excepting some rare oddities.

2014 will be the proof out here. Unfortunately, the other party hasn't yet announced any candidates.

Yeah, if you're into uselessly & childishly demonizing your ideological opponents.

I was under the impression that it was a no-no to get into partisan politics in this forum.

Bloomberg is one of the folks that want everybody to "do as he says, not as he does". No telling how many armed body guards he has, but it's ok because, he thinks he is special, and better than everybody else.

Does anyone here really care what some crooked politician from New York thinks about guns?

I don't. He greatly overestimates his value as a human being.

To put it in biblical terms...he thinks more highly of himself than he ought...

Money does that.

He has like $20 billion in his piggy bank. It makes him feel very important and that his views are more valid than poorer folks.
