This gun has been hiding in the safe for a while so I took it out to oil it and decided to go outside to see it in the daylight. Wow , I forgot how beautiful this thing still is with its original 35 year old finish. The trigger is so light it surprised the hell out of me when I dry fired it. I really hope I can find some .357 mag ammo tomorrow because I want to hit the range reeaalll badd. ...As usual, The iPhone pictures don't do this justice.. p1.jpg

It sees only occasional use. It's probably not been exercised in six months.

It occasionally goes along for the ride when we're out on the old family place though it isn't the first choice for holster use.

Cervelo's nickel 6-inch looks really nice too. I've warmed up to nickel in recent years. Both Colt and Smith & Wesson could do a bang-up nickel job.

Oh............ whew............. you were talking about your 'weapon' and not your 'gun'.

When I read the post title, I thought you might have been talking about indecent exposure.....

Very nice firearm you have to OP and follow on poster! Very Nice! Yes, gun porn....................................!

You say the Python is 35 right? That would make it a 1978 model. Great year. My first handgun is a Colt Python identical to yours also made in 1978. I carried it for almost 3 years as an armed security officer. Take care of and enjoy it.

I don't think it's fair that some of you have Pythons and I don't. We need some legislation to distribute those excess guns to needy less fortunate responsible gun aficionados. That would be gun legislation I could back (well not really).

Ooooh. Ooooooo! Ahhhhhh. Colt Pythons are hard not to like. Beautiful pics.

Is it kosher to drool? I'm drooling now.

Definitely one of the three finest Colts ever made (Colt SA Army, Colt 1911, Colt Python). :eek:k:
