The homeowner and his wife walked into the burglary in progress, burglar opens fire and flees.

Sometimes its not always when you're home, you may just walk into a robbery.

...SA shouldn't end when we open our front door...if my dogs aren't at the door, wildly yelping, I wait a second till they round the corner or come through the doggie door...had a Captain who's aunt came home to a burglar who killed her to keep her from telling his mother...for years, I'd have my wife sit in the car with the babies till I'd gone in and swept the house...I've seen posters mocked for this level of caution...betcha this guy would like a do-over...

If they are in our home when we are not there, the alarm should be going off, and I should already know about it along with the Sheriff.
