I'm thinking about driving up to Cabela's and possibly Gander Mountain (Allen and Denison for those in North TX) to look for 9mm ammo. Is it worth the trip these days? I called Cabela's earlier and asked about ammo and their CS said they couldn't give that info on the phone since the gun counter is too busy to keep them updated. Have they been able to maintain a decent supply? Have prices gone up? Most of all, is it worth it for me to drive an hour to the OK border and be tempted to cross the border gamble at the Indian casinos?

I was at the NV Cabela's late last month, and my observation was that (at least for some calibers) you might get a better selection ordering fro them online. It's possible, of course, that I just happened to be there after a super busy ammo weekend that cleaned them out, so I can't say for certain.

I'd never order from Cabela's again. I ordered (5) packs of Winchester 100-round 9mm via Gunbot and it showed 'in stock' at the time of order. Got my confirmation email saying my order went through, then 5 min later got another email saying it was backordered . And to top it off they had already charged my card ! So I promptly called up Customer Service and had them cancel my order. Took 3 days for the funds to be refunded back to my card as well...
