Long term I plan to have a pair of semiauto .223's- one for accuracy at long range, the other a compact short range carbine. The Kel-Tec SU-16c is in the lead for the latter, but I got a Cabela's catalog today and they had the R-15 on sale for $949 (reg 1100) with 22" barrell.

Thoughts? Anyone have one? I plan to add a 4-12 optic and bipod and use for range shooting and prairie dog/coyote hunting.

That's a good deal. The cheapest I've seen them locally is about $1060

It's mine now. The wife insisted on a safe for the growing collection so we hauled one of those home too.

I have a R-15 Predator 18.5" barrel, two stage target trigger with a Leupold 6X18 VXIII with a dot. Great rifle, made by Bushmaster. Never had a FTF/FTE and is very accurate on a wide range of rounds.

It is my coyote killing machine.
