I am stunned and amazed...turned in my application with range certificate at 4:30 last thursday, was photographed and fingerprinted, and took a quick written test...done by 5:00 PM. Was told it would take several weeks to process and then "the Lieutenant" would review it all and make a decision.

They called at 8:45 this morning saying it had been approved and was ready to pick up. Eight calender days! I LOVE Madera County! One of the few SANE parts of this state. The permit lists all six weapons that I listed on my application and they said if I needed to add any others, just bring it back and they would add them to the back.

Was headed into a rough part of Fresno to do inspections at an apartment complex at 10:00 and I took the time to circle by the sheriff's office first. It felt SO good to be legally armed. Greatly improved my mindframe and allowed me to better concentrate on work.

I tell you, this time next year, and KA will have full reciprocity. I think they're finding the error in their liberal ways

Who are you related to? Arnold???

AFS
Ha!....no connections at all. Sadly though, it seems that in most counties you must know somebody or be "connected" in order to be granted this "priviledge".

Thankfully there are many rural counties that understand the limitations of law enforcement and gladly grant permits to most every law abiding citizen that makes the effort to jump through their hoops.

The lesson for Kalifornians is to not roll over and give up. It can happen!

Wrong. Each county regulates this however they choose. I have seen Fresno County's CCW and it has entirely different restrictions than my Madera County permit. The section to list the guns is on the front. The statewide CCW application has space for only three guns, but then says to "attach additional page if necessary". I did.

My county was able to fit five weapons on the front of the CCW and one on the back...and there is plenty of room for more.

That is good to hear. I am working on getting by CA CCW and it is nice to hear that a county similar to mine is so fast. Congrats.

Quick CCW in CA

That's great, San Joaquin county was just as supportive they actually seamed happy for me to get my CCW. The only thing in my county is that when I want to add a gun to my permit I have to qualify the gun with a certified trainer. 20.00 to certify and then take the certification to the sherrif and they add it to my permit. If you live inside the city limits in CA forget it the Chief of Police will never hand out a CCW.
