GOP Ready To Cave On Gun Control

My Comments: MAKE LOTS OF NOISE to the NRA Leadership! No Universal Background Checks! This will lead to confiscation. It happend in Germany (start naming other countries if you know your history!) It also appears that the NRA may 'fold' on this issue too. TELL THEM NO!

Ammoland has two extremely depressing reports. We already knew that Eric Cantor and Paul Ryan were pretend conservatives with plans to cave on universal background checks. This first report makes it sound even worse.

As I was reading the article I kept thinking that it just didn't sound right. And then I read this from the author:

"I cannot vouch for the accuracy of these reports..."

If he can't vouch for the accuracy of the reports then he shouldn't be reporting on it. A journalist should always be confident in his sources. He should do the investigative research necessary to flush out the facts. I'm not saying it isn't accurate, I'm just saying he should dig deeper into the story before reporting on it.

That doesn't match up with several other reports I've been reading the last week or so.

I'm doubting that the GOP as a whole is "ready to cave." I suspect more scare tactic reporting, but it is still a good idea to flood your representatives and the Speaker of the House with e-mails and calls!!!

Many Dem's will not support it either from what I'm hearing.

I don't know anything about the article, but I know that the squeaky wheels get the grease.

An effective low-cost fight can be easily done by any of us:
Join a pro-gun organization....join more than one.
Contact your legislator......frequently.
Actively support and vote for good candidates.
Encourage your family and friends to do the same.

Complacency is our enemy.

I AIN'T QUITTIN.......I AIN'T SLOWIN' DOWN.........NO HOW.....NO WAY

I don't think so...

Chuck Grassley of Iowa, Ranking member on the Senate Judiciary Committee, sent me this letter"

http://www.defensivecarry.com/forum...ter-more-detailed-letter-sen-grassley-ia.html

It's long... but it explains what they did pass out of committee, and near the bottom, the GOP (or at least his) stand on UBCs. Note: Chuck was wavering on UBCs in the press... He has seen the light.
I saw your post in another thread with this letter. It is indeed good news. Grassley was coming across earlier as leaving some openings for anti legislation. It's good to know he has had a change of heart, or is doing a better job of articulating his position.
