I carry at 4:00 and it's fine. If I have an OWB or a leather clipped/snapped IWB, it stays there.

Some options: Mount a holster in your car (e.g., hidden beneath your dash) or have a remora or similarly textured holster to place between your seat and dash. If the latter, make sure it has a strong grip to the seat and console!

It try not to unholster/reholster much when I'm carrying. You might want to try a variety of different carry positions and different holsters.

What do you carry? Maybe we can offer some suggestions.

I use a Sneaky Pete Holster on my left side at 3 o'clock and have no issues standing, sitting, driving working etc. Great holster - you can also simply not cover it with a shirt as it does not look like a holster.

I use the stock holster that came with my XDm and either put it in the center console, or clip it onto the compartment on the door (depending on which vehicle). But that is only for trips >1hr. Any less than that and I just leave it in my IWB CBST.

I have velcro glued inside my center console (don't let your console fill up with junk). Also have extra holsters for my carry guns (only two so not a big deal) with velcro. I move my carry gun to the console back and forth with no problem.

Normally carry IWB at 3:00 o’clock and have never had a problem, now on long road trips I sometimes carry a Detective Special in a shoulder holster.

i have been CC for @ 3 years and have found by trial and error that the right holster will make or break comfortable driving-like most cc scenarios.

Thoughts

Some things I have learned over the many years of carrying and spending way to much time in a vehilce. The lower you carry the handgun the more uncomfortable it is when seated. Carrying where the seatbelt can bind such as an apendex position can be deadly...you can't get to the handgun when needed...besides it is very uncomfortable for extended periods of time.

My current rig is an OWB carried at 4:00. The holster was designed to carry with the muzzle of the pistol level with the bottom of the belt. This allows the keeps the handgun parallel with the upper torso while seated. The pistol can be accessed while seated. This carry does require you find a holster and especially a belt that will support the weight of the handgun. Just of reference I carry a handgun simmilar in size to a Glock 19.

These are personal observations and experience. You need to find the system that works for you then stick with it.

I generally carry as normal and just put a second in the console for a quick grab.
