Hello. I'm new at this, and new to Combat Carry.com, so if I violate a few protocols please be patient. Constructive critiques are OK. I'm trying to find a combat pistol course in Oregon that is primarily for the average citizen as opposed to a professional. I've considered Front Site in NV, but would prefer to stay in OR if possible. Anybody have any sources, info? Thanks

Welcome!

Buzzg,

Welcome aboard!

One of the best-known trainers in the country, Clint Smith, recently relocated from Texas to Oregon. I have not trained with him personally (yet), but his reputation is excellent. See:

I noticed that they offer a three-day concealed carry course - maybe that's what you are looking for.

Best wishes.

buzzg - I have been to Thunder Ranch when it was in Texas and I can state that it is the finest firearms training school there is. I have also been to Front Sight here in Nevada and it can't hold a candle to the caliber of training that you will get from Clint Smith.

When at Thunder Ranch I took the Defensive Firearms I Course and Team Tactics. They were both the best training that I had out side the military and I spent 6 years with Special Forces, including two tours in Vietnam. Clint is simply the best there is.

I am trying to put together the money to attend a few more courses now that he has moved to Oregon.

Enroll in any course you wish. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. His school gets my 5 Star rating.

Buzz, welcome aboard. Check here there was a thread or two on trainers/training.

Check each trainer's website for their schedule. Many of them travel to various parts of the country and perhaps you can sign up for a course local to you.

I"m taking a Randy Cain (TN?) and hopefully Gabe Suarez (AZ) courses . . . both in the Nashua NH area this Summer. If I had to travel to another part of the country, I wouldn't be taking this training!

So look around and see what opportunities are nearby you.
