"We believe that the illegal occupation of Iraq by Multinational Forces is the root cause of the insecurity which led to this kidnapping and so much pain and suffering in Iraq. The occupation must end."
My blood is boiling. :aargh4: The "occupators" risk their lives to save their ungrateful butts and not only they do not thank them but they spit on their faces.

I'm glad those folks have been released but yeah - my blood has reached over 200º also :frown:

Might be worth them remembering Lebanon - almost anyone working there for whatever reason was a target for hostage taking - regardless. It mattered not who had troops there from whatever nation.

Next time a group of "antiwar activists" get kidnapped, let 'em rot! :nono:

And whatever happened to the female anti that was supposed to be killed a month or so ago?

It is sort of amazing. Sometimes I wonder about these "good" Christians, and a lot of other "brotherly love" religions.

But this isn't the place to "go there". :nono:

Wow! You mean to say that Matt & Katie & their ilk are going to give these <expletive deleted> a nationwide platform to bash America? :aargh4:

Who woulda thunk it?

Maybe they will use their airtime to thank the military forces that rescued them...:image005:

I'll say for whatever reasons, Draft Avoidance being one of them IMHO, some Cristian denominations/branches have been over taken with socialist types who are interjecting their secular views into varying religious dogma.

Not that it's all that widespread just seems the real PIA types like the ones mentioned in this thread seem to get a lot of press.

Note that I'm not picking in any religion in particular just stating what I've observed first hand and noted in the news over the years.

BTW- If there is a right place for further discussion of this I wouldn't mind sharing a few observations I've made in further detail.

What's this "released" k-wrap? They were rescued. Big difference.

Also, I agree with dropping them right back where they were found. And I'm not kidding.

They are a non violent group, that had no problem being rescued by a bunch of gun toting military folks. And to my knowledge they have not thanked the folks that risked their lives to save them.

Just goes to show you level of commitment are men, and women in the armed forces have. Thanks to you all for keeping this county free.

Wow, that's just amazing. I really don't understand people sometimes.

“Today, in the face of this joyful news, our faith compels us to love our enemies even when they have committed acts which caused great hardship to our friends and sorrow to their families.
I'm all for loving your enemies, that's one of the greatest things a Christian can do. It is one of the things that set Christians apart. But how about throwing a bone to your friends that helped you get "released" from those enemies. You know, the ones that would have killed you like they did your friend.

Oh, and since we are talking about "illegal" acts I guess mentioning the killing of Iraqi Kurds with WMDs can be mentioned? Maybe not.

It is a tough balancing act sometimes being a Christian. But loving your enemies doesn't mean neglecting your friends. It doesn't mean letting people walk all over you or hurt your family and friends. And it doesn't mean turning a blind eye to evil in the world.

I boil over too. These "do gooders" have absolutely no business being in a war zone. If they have half the brains God gave a 4lb rock, they'd know the dangers. Having this bit of knowledge then you can assume they at least subconsciously figure that our Country (TROOPS) could come to the rescue if needed. So yeah......where is the THANKS for in fact putting our Troops in an additional hazardous situation. Let the Bozos, and those who will follow, get there rescue from there affiliate churches.....Amen !!

They are total hypocrites...if they were not hypocrites then they would have steadfastly refused to be rescued by violent soldiers who were carrying guns which are (of course) symbols of killing and violence... they are idiots and not to be paid any attention to.

You can bash them on our forum for being idiotic dolts...just don't bash them for being Christian.

My hat is off to our military :usflag: who see all innocent life as being worth saving even if the asses that they ARE saving are basically worthless ones and "mixed up" ones.

While in a Miami hotel room this week, I saw several "spokespersons" with their Christian group say that they were happy their bretheren were rescued but deplored the acts of violence "committed" by the rescue forces in doing so....in short, don't expect any thanks anytime soon.

I'm not about to tell someone their religion, but people like this just embarass me.

I love how some people like to ignore the fact Jesus told his followers to have a couple of swords handy not to mention have you ever read what he did to the crooked moneychangers at the temple?

It's all in a little book called the Bible these so called "Christians" need to read in better detail imao.

Turning the other cheek, etc. refers to being willing to set aside your pettiness and being righteous instead of cruel or immature, not being a ninny. Look at all the wars King David fought, and he was described as a man after God's own heart. Heck he trusted in God to help him kill a man named Goliath.

There is nothing in the Bible that says to roll over and play dead.

Okay sermon over...

Back when the "human shield" activists were staking out various targets in Iraq my buddies and I used to discuss what to do if we found them shielding a target we were trying to service.

The consensus was to avoid them if possible, but don't let their presence compromise completion of the mission. Journalists, activists, Air Force types and other ninnies who clutter up the land battlefield are just more obstacles to go around, over or thru.
