A buddy of mine turned me on to this simple yet affective item.

It goes in place of the normal eyelet used to clean the barrel. The cleaning patch is draped over the JAG, and pushed through. I have found it takes about half as many patchs to do the job.

Next time I would buy the plastic version, not brass. You need to be careful when pulling it back through the barrel you don't do any damage.

For about $2 it is worth a try.

you can get a whole set from midwayusa.com there made by tipton them seem to be the best

I don't know why but overall, the cleaning tools available here are not that good. Even bronze brushes are too soft and are quickly ruined.

I sent to UK to renew my older stuff - which is all Parker Hale - and the jags are brass and work exceptionally well - way better than plastic deals with a hole in!!

I'll take a pic of some items later so you can see. Of course thread arrangements are different so - not interchangeable.

Oh really Bud - oh my - never realized.

Maybe that is more recent - I sent back to UK with my order three or more years ago. I'll still take a pic or two for ref purposes - because the jag is so much better IMO.

Just a real quick shot. The center jag is for .22 and of course goes on a thinner rod - use that for rifle.

The other two jags are IIRC for 44 and 38 - beauty of those is, if right amount of patch applied they are not only going to give a super tight fit in the bore but, usually you can push and pull a few times with good effect. Really get the job done.

The brushes are very robust - good bristle density and they last - good and tough. Can't recommend them enough.

The rod BTW is just a std pistol one but also have rifle rods too.
