A couple of the engravings are neat. But on a gun? And all of them together? There's a reason that
Most gun engravers limit their designs to classic scrollwork.
, don'tcha think?

Any opinion from Bruce? Haven't heard from him in a while.

Oh...You mean put itself out of its misery?

The pistol is an Army Issue Colt ser. no. 393553 which is still on the frame.

Here are my thoughts on this as an artist and appreciator of Guns & Knives As Art & Artistic Creations.

The Basic IDEA of a 3 Dimensional Sculptural Colt .45 Automatic is interesting.
It's too doggone bad that on the technical end the work was not accomplished better & with more finesse, planning, forethought & raw talent.
Just my opinion.
It seems very haphazard & thrown together & that makes it sort of worthless.

My Advice

He should have sold that original Colt at a good price to somebody like OD....that would have given him enough cash to practice his metal carving on three used LLama pistols.

A finely crafted Colt??? Not that one!

It looks like my 3yr old built a Colt 1911 out of silver Play-Doh! The entire gun looks hap-hazard and completely "backyard" engraved. It looks disgusting.

Gotta agree the artistic execution is poorly done but also, if you're going to try creating a sculpture then it has to have a cohesive flow of composition. This "little bit here, little bit there" crap doesn't cut it. That's just individual specimens instead of one piece of work. In any case, someone needs to take away his chisels and slap him stoopid.
