Colt Defender purchase

Well guys
Yup, the "buy-it-now" bug bit me again. I picked up this Colt 90 Series 45ACP 3 inch BBL Defender today. Came with the box, 2 stainless 7 shot mags and paperwork. I paid $550.00 for it. I've seen them for a whole lot more in other places, so I figured it was a pretty good deal.
Gotta clean it up a little, but here's what it looked like before the strip down/cleanup process. I've got the extended slide stop and extended safety somewhere in my box of goodie parts. I'll put those on as well. Oh I added one more pic, just to let you see the "size factor" in the hand

Curse you and your envy inducing deal finding ways!

That IS a good deal. I saw the same thing for $850 locally. Sold within a week.
Euc? have ever seen a 1905 Colt? I have one right here LOL......I'll send you a pic, but it's HUGE.....BTW 3 digit S/N LOL with engraving I just don't know how to upload such a huge file and place it on here :frown:
That is a good deal...

but...didnt we just have discussion about them short barrelled .45's ? I hope it works out for you. Be sure to shoot the heck out of it ansd then tell us how reliable it is...

I remember that discussion we had. I know most of them are very fussy about what kins of diet we feed them. The deal was just a very good find, and I'm going to dress it up a bit, and got riight through it. I do have my Lightweight Combat Commander I purchased a few months ago, and I'd stake my life on it. (it came with TONS of custom goodies doen be the previous owner) But what the heck, where can ya find a Colt at a reasonable price? especially the Defender series or similar
You done good.

Just a matter of being in the right spot at the right time.

I carry a XSE stainless Combat Commander myself. Didnt do anything to it though...it came with all the goodies. Only government model I own that I havent "improved"...
I had the Defender on hold for a few days, where I make most of my deals. I'll probably try it out either Tomorrow night, or Tuesday night at the range. Will give a report on it  I'll try several brands of ammo, with several bullet weights as well.
SWWWEEETT what a excellent deal dang you are a lucky guy i wanna see the 1905 colt also. Wish i could run into deals like that

Thats the Perfect pistol for CorBon new 160grDPX load. Made for compact 45's this is a non+P load. Mr S. Camp used a defender and clocKed 1080FPS Reports are 12to 13 in. In jello and .70 or better expansion.
