This would have been the cco I bought when I got the DW if it had been available. The checkering alone would have sold me over the scallops on the DW.

I like it except for the brass bead front sight.
I saw this pistol described in a gun magazine years ago, not sure when.
I don't remember the logic behind a brass bead front sight instead of night sights, but it should have N/S.

The brass bead on my WC GP100 shows up pretty good in low light, low enough that a target would not be identifiable unless very close.

Brass or gold bead works well in low light. It reflects any available light and provides a point of focus. I don't buy into the night sight hoopla. They don't improve anything for me.

This pistol will be introduced at SHOT 2014. I doubt you saw it in a magazine years ago. Colt produced a LWT CCO a while back but it was not like this.

I was close, the gun I saw before looked like that (including bead front sight) but it was a Commander, not CCO.

Very pretty. I don't know about the thumb safety... And I fully expect the right grip panel to have a resistive pad where the palm pad (abductus pollicus brevis & flexor pollicus brevis) under the thumb would rest. That would make sense...

Yes, very pretty, indeed.

The Wiley Clapp Colt Commander was a TALO release.

All of the above are characteristics of the Wiley Clapp line if I'm not mistaken.

The grips are probably the most comfortable grips I've ever held and extremely useful compared to other factory Colt grips IMO. Form follows function in this case.
