Just for information only, I have been carrying guns for over 30 years and in all that time, as I'm sure many others have as well, I have bought, worn and junked a whole S#*t load of holsters. For the last 5 years I have been carrying holsters made by one guy, I have 3 different designs by this guy and they are the highest quality and the most comfortable, quick access holsters I have ever come across. Go to www.andrewsleather.com Sam Andrews is THE MAN!! However he has an unoffical motto which is "We aren't cheap, but we're slow." All his holsters are handmade. My favorite for carry of both my Custom Rock River Arms 1911 5" and my Kimber CDP compact is the Hybrid Saddle Holster with the tension hold only. It is secure, tight to your body and very fast to employ. Just my two cents worth for you all to check out. I'd enjoy hearing any feedback from others.

I use Sam's carjacker crossdraw for short trips. Nice work. My pops carries his Sig220 in the Hybrid Saddle as well as a spare mag/light in matching pouch.

I like Rafter S Gunleather. Prices are lower than mass produced stuff, yet quality and useability are higher. I have 2 holsters and a belt made by them.

I too recommend RafterS Gunleather http://www.raftersgunleather.com/ . Great holsters at better prices. Their belt holster makes a 35 oz. 1911 disappear under a t-shirt and feel like the weight of an Airweight S & W; for a two week wait and $50!

There are (ain't we lucky) many excellent holster makers out there. Maybe that is why I too have had boatloads (the famous holster box!). I am exclusively OWB with all rigs, apart from one or two sho and ankle rigs.

I loved my Jim Burke rig for snub (so sad he died late 2003) - so got Kevin K&DHolsters to make me a copy - turned out to be even nicer than Jim's! First pic.

Then more recently, he excelled himself making me a rig for my current daily carry - 226ST ... second pic. I rarely have retention straps ... except on a belt rig made for my R9

The other rig which is rather tasty is (third pic) a rig all but given me - I have posted it before. One of Andy's lovely Horseshoe leather creations. Patterned for Govt A! but I find it great for my BHP in this case.

Wow. Nice looking holsters P95. Kevin @ K&D Holsters made me a custom pocket holster for my Taurus 617 in .357 magnum. It fits perfectly, looks great, and Kevin was great to deal with. Sorry no pics...

For those FEW folks here that carry in a shoulder holster...The Andrews
Monarch is an extremely "well thought out" & functional & comfortable rig that is designed not to flop around at all. Here is a pic of it.

I have one of these Monarch Rigs, they are very comfortable. Mine does not have the knife scabbard however, it has a pouch attached under the magazines to hold my Surefire 6P. It attaches to the slot under the magazines via a fold over snap.

As I have posted before I highly recommend Sam Andrews and all his very professionally made holsters.

Looks a fine rig QK - but, don't personally like horizontals... maybe it's the muzzle sweep aspect.

Ages since I have used a sho rig but - this one below - Bianchi X-15 is about the best I have used. Here it is filled with the ol' P95 - but equally accepts my SIG226. It is quite comfortable - the only annoyance being the top strap/elastic - wanting to ride up onto my neck. It has a good loop for securing to belt - which prevents any nasty forward swings when bending! Draw is very fast.

Yep! Sam's a really decent guy - and he makes some really nice leather, too!

We haven't actually started the move yet - just got the preleminary stuff done for the construction of the new building. We will actually begin breaking down the shop and loading up a month from today. Then, I gotta build a building...
