Doesn't constitute a national registry huh? Until it does. They can slowly add states until only Illinois is not included and still make the same claim. And wasn't it the Bama that sanctioned buying and selling in those states and Mexico not all that long ago? oops.

From the article said:
The requirement, issued in what is known as a demand letter, compels those sellers to report to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives when anyone buys — within a five-day period — two or more semi-automatic weapons capable of accepting a detachable magazine and with a caliber greater than .22.
And so, anyone wanting to truly flood Mexico with US-sourced arms would simply wait until the 6th day. Poof! no reporting. And this is going to stop cartels arming themselves how, exactly, particularly when they themselves report they acquire the vast bulk of their weapons elsewhere? :tired:

Under what definition of the word "narrow" does it describe any semi-auto >.22? That is a massive portion of the rifles out there. Definitly an appeal is in order.

I'm pretty sure they're going to impose similar reporting requirements on the international arms merchants from China, Brazil, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, South Korea, Israel, The Philippines, Argentina, etc., etc...

There were at 3 other court rulings in other areas, saying it was NOT legal to do. So, you have competing rulings in different jurisdictions. Which means, it will end up in the Supreme Court if someone is willing to take it all of the way.

Hm. The USA moving towards registration and tracking of everything ... Canada moving away from it. What a world.

It's clear these "leaders" are only heading down a path blindly, making it up as they go along.

"Crime" control, indeed. Geez.

Blindly on their own, or blindly as they are told?

If the latter, then by whom?

Since when has the fact that a citizen who had purchased more than one rifle at a time ever resulted in anything that would be considered a basis that this type of information gathering be construed as warranted or useful in any way?
