Hello everyone,

You can call me crusade. I live in Nevada and I currently carry a Glock 30SF (right now totally stock, aspiring to get some night sights soon) in a Comp-tac CTAC holster. I am brand new to concealed carry. I have only been doing this for about 2 months now, but have been a gun enthusiast for years. I'm a student, currently in undergraduate right now and have been accepted to the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada Las Vegas starting this fall. I'm LDS (Mormon), and I know that a lot of people don't like my religion, but I am more than willing to answer any questions you might have, especially through private messages. I am married and have a brand new son who is currently 6 weeks old.

My username has no real significance, I just think the armored knights during the crusades look cool and have picked up that theme lately. My gun reminded me of it, actually. If any of you own a Glock 30, it sort of looks like a little bulldog or a hammer or something... reminds me of a crusader. Maybe that's weird, but I thought I'd give you an explanation behind my username and avatar in case you're interested. I just like the theme and think it's cool. The shield also symbolizes defense, not offense, and is my philosophy for carrying a concealed firearm.

I decided to carry a firearm chambered in .45 ACP, specifically the Glock 30SF, because it's simply what I shoot best. I am not trying to compensate for anything or think that bigger is always better as I know many people feel about people who carry .45s, I just shoot it most accurately and efficiently and the .45 ACP is a great round, just like many others out there on the market today.

The Glock is currently the only firearm I own (starving college student), but I soon plan to purchase a revolver chambered in .357 Magnum (most likely the Smith & Wesson 686 or 686 Plus) and my wife will soon be choosing her own firearm as well. Somewhere down the road I would also like to purchase a .22 rifle and/or handgun. That's when I can actually afford all of these things... a guy can dream, right?

Happy to be here. Sorry for the long post! Thanks for reading.

Welcome to the forum! Folks here are respectful of others regardless of their religious beliefs. We even have our very own group of gun loving liberals (most of them won't admit the "liberal" part though).

Welcome and I will add there are many things about your religion I admire. I do have to say I don't think the world needs any more lawyers but to each their own. Congratulations on the new baby.

Nuttin to apologize for there Slim...we got us a couple long winded types up in here, yours truly as a matter of fact. HA HA. HUA

When you get the chance hit the thread I started...'How Did you come up w/your Handle-Call Sign Here and make it Official.

I got a few buddies over at ZionsCamp.yuku.com , it's an LDS Patriot site. Alma The Younger is my main man over there. He's a writer of novels too and runs (in partnership) an Academy of shooting instruction for civilians and LEO. The school is in AZ. I don't recall the name but he and his partners took the name of a school in Unintended Consequences by John Ross (another excellent book).

I owned and carried 357s more than 10 years when I was a young man. Leather Shoulder rig and CC. When you get your 22, get a Ruger 10-22. I have 3 currently. Have had 5 all told. You can get 25R and 50R mags for it and all manner of accessories. If Nevada is a CLASS III state you can make it/buy it in an SBR setup if you're willing to jump thru the ATF hoops and spend the extra $$$ for tax stamps and what not. A 10-22 in Full Auto is a sight to BEHOLD!!!!!!! I'm here to tell ya!! HUA.....Willie Nelson...He's in The Jailhouse Now....

Reckon it's about time I gave ya my standard Welcome...It goes like this:

Howdy Hay from WA state Today!!! Welcome aboard Ship Mate...Pull up an EZ chair and settle in for a spell. HUA
