Don't go crying crocodile tears for this person just yet. The link you showed is old in news time.

There have been new videos of this person just prior to being shot of him being chased by SHP and pitted, stopped, LE approaching in uniform, and then driving around the troopers car and then driving away with officers in front of him before running on bare rims to his home neighborhood with LE in pursuit.

Also, this isn't his first rodeo with obstruction and resisting.

The news ran with the same kind of story they usually do and now the facts are getting in the way of their "poor innocent deaf person" story.

Wrong sub-forum; "In the News, TGTB&TU" is for armed good guy vs bad guy stories. Moved to LE.

Pretty simple....don't run from the police!! I'm sure there is more to the story.
Pretty simple...did he threaten the officer?

This should be like the incident in SC where the policeman shot an unarmed, fleeing man.

Running from the police is not a capital offense. Nether is not obeying orders (which he couldn't do being deaf). The police officers in this case seem to have forgotten that there is a spectrum of force between verbal orders and deadly force for subduing suspects who are not an immediate threat.

Here is another, more recent story. No, not his first unhappy interaction with LE:
Deadly chase with deaf man reached 100 mph, included crash - LA Times

Well, we don't know the specifics of the troopers immediate reasoning for the shooting. However, the driver's actions in evading point to the distinct possibility that there is more to this story than initially reported. He may be deaf, but he wasn't blind, it's a little hard to ignore all those red and blue lights..... even more so when the Trooper knocks your car sideways, and then in uniform tries to walk up to your car door.

You have assumed in your post that there was no probable cause for the Trooper shooting. That MAY be a correct assumption, but we do not know all the FACTS yet, so we shouldn't jump to conclusions either way.

Well, the general public was threatened when he drove off after being pitted. I believe that qualifies as reasonable expectation of increasing the level of the force continuum.
