I'm thinking about dipping my toe in appendix carry with my 640-1. I'd like to give it a try without sinking big bucks into a holster in case I can't get comfortable with it. I'd like a tuckable IWB with an offset clip to stay as thin as possible so the Slim-Tuk might be an ideal holster to started out with. Has anyone used one for a j frame? The net is full of photos with various autos in a Slim-Tuk, but I'd be interested how the j frame model actually looks.

I don't know anything about a Slim-Tuck. I just use a simple clip on IWB Holster in the Apendix position. Not trying to change your mind but if you have something like that you can try it before you buy it so to speak. As for AIWB I found it best for me. I tried all over on the belt and in the belt. I carried guns like a Glock21 and a 4" 8 shot Revolver to what I carry now 2" J-Frames. I weighed over 260 when I started back in 2004 and now weigh 200. AIWB works for me. Any place els hurt my back.
