They have one here this weekend as well i believe.The last one i went to,i think half of the east coast attended.That's good,but,to crowded for me.
Disapointing gun show
Went to a local gun show today. Not a single decent deal to be found, the majority of the guns for sale were well over what I can buy them at a dealer for, example a ruger 10/22 take down was being sold for $430 LOL I bought one for $310 back in December. Typically most guns at the gun show today were going for close to $100 more then you would find them at a dealer, minus handguns, handguns were only slightly more expensive. Ammo you ask? well that wasn't awful, provided you could get to the table that was selling ammo. Roughly 100 people at it at any given time, I'm sure I'll be seeing a lot of ads Sunday on armslist. I was most disappointed with the knife selection this time around. It was so bad it is not worth mention.
So tell me, how have your local gun shows been doing? any better? I'm contemplating not attending the next ones.

I really try not to go to them. No offense, but I hate crowds and don't care to be amongst a bunch of people selling junk and trinkets, and then a few booths with legitimate items.
Yeah, I heard back in the day they used to be awesome, but the two I've gone to in the last year (only two I've gone to) have be awful.
I did walk away with a gun belt today. My first gun belt, never wanted to admit I needed one, and honestly I still feel my walmart belts held everything up just fine, but I've gone through two in the last year (one of those in about 2 months) so I figured I'd take the leap. Got one of those boston leathers one. $28.

i went to a gun show a few weeks ago, pretty awesome experiance, lots of neat things but like the OP, all guns/ammo were overpriced, i found that any semi auto rifles in any caliber aside from 22 were between 1100 and 3000, i was kinda shocked really, i went in assuming that the gathering of gun enthusiats would create some comradery, but instead all i saw was people trying to hock their stuff for inflated prices, some of the local dealers were selling guns 15-20% higher for the same stuff what was in their shop the week before. so my take away from it was some sore feet, a few good arguments and an surplus ammo can. i probably wont go to another one until the retardation of the nation passes.
There is a gun show here in West Palm this weekend but, IMO, it is a waste of gas and the admission fee to attend. I had to laugh at the prices the dealers were asking at the last show and I was told today that they are even more outrageous at this show. My buddy also said that ammo prices were also higher and little was being sold.
The crowds are just to much for me, I hope things start to get back to normal soon.

All the gunshows I have attended in the last 5 years have been ridiculous. I traveled to a smaller one about 65 miles away last weekend thinking I would find a better deals; I was mistaken.
I hate to say it, but I see no further use in gun shows. They have turned into a dealers circus with overpriced items, and the few private venders are very proud of their guns and merchandise.
I can find better prices at local gun stores. No longer will I support the shows with my hard earned money.

Gun shows in my area have always been pretty bad. You can occasionally find a decent deal on a used long gun, or an older model revolver. But if you're looking for a new handgun or decent quality gear, don't bother.
I quit going to gun shows many years ago...a waste of time and $$$, except if you're looking for a nice CCW badge?
I have had some good luck with the gun shows around here; you just have to dodge all the beef jerky booths, jewelry booths, plastic guns and flea market stuff and it is still possible to find some good bargains. I have found deals such as a S&W Model 41 for $700, a S&W Model 25 in 45LC for $550 and a S&W Model 40 for $400, the good buys are out there but you just have to look for them and have the CIF (Cash in fist) to take advantage of them.
I went to one a couple of months ago and it was exactly the same as you describe. I saw used pistols listed at higher prices than what I saw a few days prior at one of the more pricey guns shops in town. Some guy was looking at a Ruger LCP and I told him he could buy it brand new for $30 less at such and such shop.
The whole show was just stupid. It was neat to see a couple of collector type firearms, and some specialty stuff, but that was about 3% of the show. The rest was a gouge festival.

In my case I bailed on Gun shows a long time ago. Around here most you pay to get in pay to park. Tables of junk, a lot not even firearm related.
How many tables of the same scopes, cheap lasers,junk knifes and slings can you look at. I did go to one last month for the first time in a long time.
Surprise nothing has changed.
Over priced. I'll stick with local shop or dealer works out much better for me.

The only good thing about gun shows is that it affords you the opportunity to examiner a number of different firearms in a single location. But prices, deals, etc. have not been any more favorable than that of an LGS on a Tuesday afternoon, and often the prices are slightly higher.
I don't go to them anymore. I don't see the point in driving and paying $8 to examine a bunch of guns I won't buy.
Anything I buy now is off my state firearms listing forum. The deals there are not taxed and the prices are fair to good (unless you are looking for an XDS, Shield, or ammo, in which case people are asking too much for me).

You went to a gun show and are disappointed with prices and availability? Unsurprising ... the pricing and availability, I mean.
It's been years since I actively went to shows searching for specific things. It's been years since I have seen much availability with decent pricing.

The only advantage of going to a gun show I've found is for the variety of guns there, but surely not any good deals. If you're looking for the unusual or rare, the chances are better at a GS than your local LGS.
