Ditto what KoB said!If your staying on WDW campus, you should be secure. If you are staying on International Drive or close by Universal Studios, please becareful. Alot of robberies of out-of-towners. In addition to this, if you venture to Old Town, you might want to CC just in case!
Anything downtown Orlando…yeah you better tote!!!
Overall, have fun and remember, WDW is about the children.
Haha, You must have experience with this :spankme:If you are "made" at Disney World, they will escort you to the security office, where there are lockers. They will watch you put your gun inside a locker. Then you lock the locker and you take the only key with you. When you leave, you go to customer relations and ask for security. They escort you back to retrieve your gun, then escort you to the gate. Escorts do not wear security uniforms, but they are security people wearing Disney clothing.
No metal detectors!! IMHO the only machine that they use are able to scan how much cash you have in your pockets and the credit lines on your credit cards.
Just do not check your common sense at the door. The park is covered with hidden cameras but do not leave video camera on stroller, leave pocket book under the stroller. By the gifts towards the end of the night. The biggest crime is shoplifting from the stores inside the parks. never had a problem is Florida after 15 times but once in Cali somebody stole a sweatshirt and umbrella off our stroller.
You do not state if you are going with kids on vacation. But here is a couple of tips for you.
If you drive to the park as you approach the parking lot notice what time you enter. This way if you cannot find your car they can tell exactly where you parked. I would also take a digital picture of the row number and lot that you parked in.
TIE A BALLOON OR BRIGHT SHIRT TO THE STROLLER HANDLE. The cast members will move your stroller from the entrance of the ride to the exit while you are on the ride. The balloon or shirt will make it easier to find your stroller in a sea of others.
Buy a rain ponchos for each person at Wal-mart or other discount store for $1.00 opposed to DW $. Place inside a zip lock bag and take with you to the park. Everyday is a chance of rain. Ponchos are also good for water rides.
Buy a cheap cooler and case of water from WW,7-11 and let them freeze in the ice over night take a bunch of bottles with you and leave the rest in the cooler in trunk while inside the park. You will have cool refreshing water all day.
Drink plenty of water you will not realize how far you walked all day. Take two advils as you exit the park. Once you sit down in your vehicle and then have to get back up. Oh lord.
Disney roads are speed enforced by local Sheriffs dept. and do issue tickets for speeding. All roads lead to Disney. So no matter if you miss a turn another one is coming up.
The half of Downtown Disney closer to Planet Hollywood could get a little iffy. Off property, no so good.
I also carried when I was in Texas at Sea World.
