I carry a Glock 27 and recently bought a new Glock 22 RTF for range shooting. I like the looks of the "gills" slide serations and the new textured finish didn't seem too bad when I handled it at the gun store. After shooting 100 rounds at the range, I was having second thoughts about the sandpaper like finish on the frame.

Solution...I put on a Hogue Handall slip on grip and WOW, it's like the grip is now custom made to fit my hand, yet I can still feel part of the texture above and below the slip on sleeve. This has made all the difference in the world and I'm looking forward to another trip to the range for a test run.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

I just added a RTF G17 to the inventory. I love the texture - I shot it last Sat in a IDPA match and came in 2nd in SSP. It moves around much less than my std G17. Works great and no issues after shooting about 1100 rounds thru in over the last 3 weeks. Much better than grip tape/panels/sleeves.

Yes, I like the feel. Not crazy about the new slide serations. The old ones give me a better grip on the slide.
If the polymids on the grip are too sharp for you, sand them down a little to take the points off. Go easy or you'll have a smooth finish in no time.

That rough texture is great if your hands ever get cold or wet, but it seems a little too rough. Something a little less extreme would be perfect.

I handled a G17RTF at the local gun shop yesterday. Nice actually, but I'm more than happy with my regular 3rd gen Glocks. No oooos and ahhs here. Any Glock is good, but if you want to impress me with something on the 'cutting edge' of technology........show me an expensive knife that was made this year.

I have owned 4 locks in 9mm over the years. I got rid of the last one in 2005, and swore them off.

I saw the RTFs and thought they were ugly. I picked one up one day at the gunstore. The grip is awesome. Also, the trigger , for whatever reason, was the crispist Glock trigger I've ever felt. I even compared it to all the regular framed Glock models they had in the store.

I bought it that day - and I had no intention to buy a gun that day....
