To me, this is very distressing. I am of the belief that if you are willing to shoot cops, you are willing to shoot just about anybody.

Eight Michigan Cops Shot In 13 Days

Lansing, MI — Eight police officers in the state of Michigan were shot — one fatally - in the line of duty in less than two weeks, and the head of the police union doesn’t want citizens to forget about it.

Michael Sauger, state president of the Michigan Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), published an open letter to the citizens of Michigan on Monday on union’s official Facebook page asking for their support.

“In less than 2 weeks, 8 police officers in Michigan have been shot in the line of duty,” the missive began. “Fortunately, most of these officers did return home, one did not. On Friday, we will bury Detroit Police Corporal Rasheen McClain.”

Right on. The tail continues to wag the dog, and the really scary part is that there are so many who cannot see this.

Detroit brings this on themselves. Rotten school system. Rotten public works system. Rotten council. Rotten police leadership.
How else could a people react?

You're wrong there.

How would you go about getting cops to support gun control legislation and eventually confiscation?
The cops know it's not the good guys that are the problem. They know that control and confiscation are not the answer.

Are you including the cops who ARE (present tense) kicking down people's doors to enforce ERPOs in that group?
This is a great point. For all the bluster that "most cops would not being willing to enforce unconstitutional laws," I have yet read one story, not one, where a cop has refused to enforce an ERPO. And there have probably been tens of thousands of ERPOs issued. Florida had over 2,500 their first year and there are 18 sates with ERPO laws and most have been in place longer than that. BTW, the idea that those thousands of ERPOs have stopped a like number of shootings and suicides is delusional.

Of course, then there is the other side, the Molon Labe folks. They claim they will resist ERPOs by force, but I have yet to read of anyone shooting it out with cops who were just serving an ERPO. (And I'm not saying anyone should.) We need to take a more realistic look at ERPOs, which is they are gun confiscation pure and simple and it you give government that power, they will use it and use it effectively and effectively to take out guns.

I am aware of two one in Maryland (I think) and one in the Denver metro for sure. In both cases the person resisting ended up dead. In Denver one cop was killed

I wish I had a good answer to this. There are people who shouldn't have guns. Nikolas Cruz is a perfect example and if they had arrested him and charged him the very first time he committed a felony assault in high school he probably wouldn't have had that gun.

That said I'm positive that ERPOs will eventually become full scale gun confiscation.

The following is my opinion you can take it or leave it as you see fit.

I am absolutely convinced that the Deep State is a real thing. I believe that their intention is to disarm us so that they can impose not Socialism, but Globalism.

I also believe that the Bundy Ranch Standoff scared the hell out of them. Because I don't think they actually believed that that many WELL ARMED people would show up ready to fight the Federal Government.

Shortly after that was resolved is when they really started the push for Assault Weapons Bans that essentially Outlaw all semi-automatic weapons and magazine capacity limits and get these weapons of war off the streets (Even though they're involved in less than 1% firearms-related homicides in America every year). That's also when they started introducing bills that didn't grandfather existing weapons which means that sooner or later they're going to have to confiscate them.

Actually, the Detroit Police Chief is an advocate of armed citizens. He has stated on more than one occasion that the Police cannot be everywhere at all times and that an armed citizen is the best defense. Not saying there is no corruption, I just don't know about that.
