What sort of crock is that? Can anything be so absurd!it's a whole new gun that fires 15 shots and then has to be sent back to the factory to be reloaded).

+1. How about when you've been slashed in the strong arm and are bleeding all over the gun while fighting your attacker off with your non-dominant arm.500Mag said:The goal is something in the neighborhood of 99.99% reliability, which they say is around the reliability of the components of a gun. So a mechanical failure should happen before an electrical one.
The main problem I have with the whole "grip recognition concept" is that I know I don't always use the same grip. Need to experiment a little to get comfortable and proper, at least with a new firearm. And if I'm in a dire situation I'll bet dollars to donuts that I'm not consciously thinking of my proper grip.
