Im new to this site and have been watching post on shot guns. I have seen the Escort M2 Pump shot gun at a shooting range and it looks nice and feels great to hold. i will be purchasing a shotgun before this summer is out. I'm all but ready to buy a Mossberg Shot gun. There are a lot of parts available. There are few for the Escort M2. However I would like to know if any one has a Escort , I would like to know what kind of warranties they offer, and how dependable are they.
Thanks

They are Turkish made and seem to be a decent shotgun.

I havent compared prices lately but they were not too much cheaper than a Mossberg 500 a couple of years ago

I would still get a mossy 500.... parts are far more plentiful if needed for repair and they have a solid reputation.

500, 590, or 590A1 would all make a great shot gun. Is there any advantage to buying a 500 over the 590 or 590A! There is a local dealer selling Mossy . . all with a life time warranty from the distributor. Not sure if I want to buy one and build it into what I want . . . or order a Model. Any advice on this one !

I have a 590. Love it. It's a bit long being 20" barrel, but mine has been flawless. 9 rds of 00 buck is a comforting feeling. I have probably close to 500 rds through mine.

Sorry, pump. Got it at big 5 for $329 I think. Was a while ago, maybe 4-5 years.

I think that the shotgun that you are referring to is the Hatsan Escort which is made in Turkey and is a very cheap shotgun. They sell a lot of them down here in Costa Rica due to their low price and the fact that firearms from the US and Europe are much more expensive. A lot of people have reported that they are very good and reliable, but when I held one it felt like a plastic toy rifle and I preferred buying a Mossberg 590A1 SPX with a 20" barrel, 9 round capacity and M9 bayonet. In your case, the price for a used Remington, Mossy or Winchester shotgun in the United States is so low that you might as well stick with high quality firearms made in the USA.

This is the Hatsan Escort

Mine works great and has a life time through Gallery of guns, just finished up a private 2 day class for shotgun tactics and my friend has a 500 that is now at the shop to be repaired and it was 3yrs old so anything can happen. I also have a 500 with 2 barrels and I like it

I own an Escort Aimguard 18" pump and really like it. The only mechanical issue I've had with it is when I first bought it the screw cap on the end of the magazine tube would come loose after a few shots. I just put a little temp loc-tite on the threads and it's been flawless since. Other then that the lack of after market parts is a bit of a bummer. But overall I am very happy with the gun.

I have several Mossberg 500s in different configurations. Go simple (and standardized - easy parts) early. I have one especially set up (just legal = it is legal) for any hotel room I stay in. I can break it down, if needed, and it fits in the bags on my bikes.

Great Shotguns, .......

I have the Escort MPA Tactical autoloading shotgun' and I was amazed at the quality of manufacture when I got it. I have other big name combat shotguns costing twice what the Escort cost, and the cheap Escort is second to none in quality and performance. With over 500 RDS through my Escort with out a hitch, I think I can say, ...... These are great shotguns for the money.

Buy what you want and are comfortable with, but I learned long ago that just because it says Colt, Moss, Beretta, Remington, or whatever, it doesn't make the target any more dead, and quality is often there but ignored just because of the silly name game.

I grew up bird hunting, and have been handling shotguns my entire life. While I'll not argue that a Mossberg pump gets the job done.......,,, I still say Remington 870 is the finest of all the cheap shotguns.
