Bummer no 230gr Ext Shock rds. I would not mind giving these a go. Bumper I talked to the guys&gals over at PMC about their El Dorado sTarfire round and that is what I am going to test next.

The Air Freedom rd does sound very promising for Air Marshalls.

This remarkable round is the terrorists worst nightmare. Under most circumstances, the AFR (Air Freedom Round) will not penetrate the skin of conventional aircraft, causing a decompression. It is also designed to not penetrate the aluminum backs of most airline seats, reducing potential collateral damage in the event of a shootout at 30,000 feet. Unlike rounds made of polymers that can generate lethal ricochet, the Extreme Shock AFR round will turn to harmless powder if it misses its intended target and hits a hard surface. It is the only round in the world with this level of performance and safety. This is also possibly the world's safest home defense round, as in most circumstances, it will fragment in standard 1 half-inch sheet rock wallboard. This bullet runs at plus-P type pressures, and should be used only in firearms of good construction and good working order.

The E-Shocks pistol caliber rounds entire energy is transferred in the first 5-9 inches of entry; effectively logamarithmically (what the hell does this word mean) delivering the full energy at twice the rate of the best hollow points. Compare it to having a karate expert pushing you with both hands or give you a bone-shattering punch to the face. While both may exert the same amount of total energy measured in foot-pounds, the rapid transfer of the punch is far more devastating. Where a conventional round leaves a one-hole trauma cavity. The Extreme Shock Explosive Entry Round leaves a shaped charge trauma cavity with hundreds of individual wounds channels, causing Central Nervous System catastrophic overload. In video taped field tests with angry 300 lb Russian Boars, a single.380 round will incapacitate and kill in a matter of seconds!. The 4501b Boar in the picture was taken with a single 9mm round. See our website or call for more information!

A wound channel 200x the size of the entry projectile. A reduced velocity SRT round blows a 7" diameter cavity in ballistic clay.

A .45 caliber projectile has a wound trauma cavity the entire diameter of the ballistic gelatin block, splitting the top and sides

Silvercorvette, thanks for the link to the magsafe ammo. I carry Ranger and am looking to try out PMC Starfire. The magsafe failed miserably. Add a layer of denim and a t-shirt and I doubt the gelatin would be harmed.

I have been telling this to people and arguing for many years it can't happen. Last year the “Myth Buster” TV show busted the myth.

I carry Hydra-Shok ammo, I don’t trust any of the fancy hi tech stuff after I read this article about Magsafe a few years ago.

So we have our devil's advocate, thanks for bringing it back into perspective. I have seen frangibles fail miserably but I too am curious, if nothing else the pictures are interesting. That boar looks like a Damn Wookie, I bet Chewbacca is seriously pissed.

how are the frangibles viewed more lethal than say a Federal Hydra Shok or Ranger SXT or Black Talon or Golden Saber???

Gotcha thanks for the insight. Learned something new. So I guess the adage that if the Police use it; it is ok for us lowly civilians is good thinking.

QK, I too share your sentiment. I have learned quite a bit already from this forum and I am sure that will only go up with each and every new forum member. I have already been offered an invite back to the SHOT Show for next year. That I am definitely going to take up.

[devil's advocate] QK, I am curious how you would explain to a grand jury why the first round in your mag is of a different variation or design with respect to the remainder of the bullets in the magazine??? [/devil's advocate]

Revlar, I am not sure, that is why I am asking. I have heard some people comment that they carry what it is the local PD carries. Take the PD thought one step further, what about carrying in your carry pistol that which your Local SWAT or HRT carries???
