only 2 things will help you get a ccw in Kali. Live in the right county, or huge campaign bribes to the local sheriff /mayor's election.

Maybe your defense contractor can figgure out a way, require you to carry, clear the path with the HMIC.

JMHO - I doubt having an FFL would make any difference at all - unless maybe you could claim the protection need when or if transporting firearms.

As being a former FFL holder, heving the ticket doesn't give you any more leverage in order to obtain a CCW license. In fact you'll probalby NEED to CCW license before you apply for the FFL.

Are you rich, famous, or politically connected? Those are the only things I know of that will help your cause.

There are a bunch of us like you out here, good people never in problems with the law etc. The ccw is only good for 2 years for a civilian then you must start the music and dance all over again.
I hate it when someone tells me to move out of CA if I want to be free but if conditions were right and a young guy has a choice pick someplace where you don't have these added pressures of life simply trying to get what is yours. I know, not good advice but its really getting old here in CA.
There are many good things about the state but starting a business and carrying a gun are not included.

Lived in Kalifornia most of my life, it was my home-of-record even when I was overseas.

Moved to Colorado in 2003 at the behest of the Army. I will NEVER go back. I say to myself at least once per day "GOD I love this place!"

Colorado is what northern California would be/ could be if it ever became a separate state... and suddenly elevated about +5000 feet. Now if we could trade Denver to California for Sacramento we'd be set.

Understand that about half of the qualifications you list will drive the liberals who control your state totally NUTZ!

Former marine, gun CLUB member and AVID SHOOTER (not just an ordinary sometimes shooter but AVID!); holder of multi-state CCW's and now you want to DEAL in the tools of evil too? If the California authorities haven't got a file on you before...be SURE they do now!

NO. FFL has nothing to do with license to carry.

Yes. You would automatically be eligible for a CCW. Sheriff Mike Carona will give you a CCW if you are a business owner. Call the Sheriff's business office in Santa Ana and they will give you all the info you need. Things you need to do include: taking an 16 hour class, filling out all sorts of paperwork, getting "Live Scan" fingerprints, providing 3 letters of reference, having your firearms "Safety Checked" by the Sheriff's Dept. armorer - all this costs money and time, so be patient.

Being an "Avid Shooter" is also a sure bet for getting a CCW from Sheriff Carona. Again, call the business office for details.

I don't think any of that other stuff matters - The fact that you are a business owner (If you have an FFL, you MUST run it as a business), and the fact that you are an "Avid Shooter" make you a sure bet to get a CCW permit in OC.

Well it's ggod to know that there's one senior level LEO in Kali that hasn't sold his soul. But I'm STILL betting there is a file and discrete computer surveillance (meaning they'll keep track of business transactions and travel) by the schmucks in Sacremento and the other anti-gun powers that be.....I'd also bet that you get harrassed by the BATF and perhaps the state level regulators.....remember, in general, the state is STILL overwhelmingly anti-gun!

Also, I don't know the law in Kali, but I just found out that you can be shut down for having TOO LITTLE gun transactions in Florida. A business flow below state guidelines means your sort of operating out of your trunk and thereby it's inferred your a dilletante and not a "true" businessman. I don't pretend to understand the logic here I just know that at least one long standing gun shop was recently SHUT DOWN here for that!
