I got a chance to do a little shooting with my cousin this afternoon. I had my Colt 1911 government model, using Winchester Service Grade ammo, and he was shooting his Springfield XD .45 Service model, using Remington ammunition. I had a chance to shoot several rounds through his, and it honestly did not feel like a .45 when I was shooting it. The perceived recoil was a lot softer than my 1911. I never would have thought that there would be that much difference in two different pistols of the same caliber.
