I always thought it was rediculous that I could carry in Walmart but not the woods...
You probably need it more in Wally World than out in the woods! :hand5:

Wish I could OC or CC while hunting up here. I carry an over and under and was once surrounded by a pack of at least six wolves while grouse hunting. I got out OK, but the math was not in my favour. :gah:

I don't bow hunt any more, but Kansas still hasn't passed that. They're too scared you'll shoot a deer with your pistol instead of your bow.:banghead:

#3 I shoot my bow better at 35 yards than sidearm JMO
Exactly. I never could see the need to carry a handgun while bowhunting. It was more of a hinderance than anything. I figure that if I needed to defend myself in the woods, a well placed broadhead is "as or more" effective than an equally placed bullet. YMMV.

Really? What about the guy that shot all those people in the woods a few years ago? Saying you can defend yourself just as easily with an arrow is like saying you would be able to defend yourself just as easily by carrying a bow down the street.
Think about it. You have to raise a bow, draw it back ( if you have time and enough space) then release the arrow under stress. Plus, you only get one shot. If you bow hunt, you know the adrenilin flow trying to hit a deer. Try a human. Also , how long can you keep an arrow drawn back and aimed at a threat? It would be more hair trigger than cocking back a revolver with your finger on the trigger.
When I hunt and I have to disarm to walk into the woods, It's like having to disarm to go into a Walmart. Its rediculous. I should be able to carry EVERYWHERE. Things dont just happen in the city. Hunters fight over hunting spots, argue over who shot a certain deer. Many scenerios. Not to mention, crime can happen anywhere. I'll take my rights with me into the woods too.

WOW... When I live in Michigan I always carried when hunting.. I did had a concealed permit of course,... When going to the blind/tree stand/just anywhere at 4AM in the morning when it is totally black, you never know if your going to run into a Badger or something,.. Never needed it, but I did run into animals and they always took off,.. With just my bow, I wouldn't have felt very well protected,...

I carry in the woods, and believe me, it's well worth it!! I was tracking a deer once and was charged by two very large black labs. Just go ahead and try nocking an arrow and trying to hit TWO charging dogs, and don't forget, you only get one shot! I'll take my pistol any day over an arrow. Yes, a well placed arrow does MASSIVE damage, but 17+1 beats 1...by a lot!

In Texas, during bow season, you have to have your concealed handgun permit. I always carry.

Passed something similar in Mo several years ago. You can carry you concealed carry firearm so long as you don't use it to take game.

Last post WAS 11 YEARS AGO! I'd "like to think things have progressed"!

Wisconsin had that law repealed altogether when the CC law passed. Prior to that, having any firearm on you while bow hunting was illegal. Ironically, OC has always been legal in Wisconsin, unless you were bow hunting prior to the repeal back in 2011.
