I have finally found happiness in the M&P Shield. The Shield was on my radar for the past year, but the safety turned me away every time since I am a lefty. I went into my LGS last week and they had a few in stock, so I handled one for a little bit. After realizing how firm that safety was to engage, I made the purchase.
I went to the range today for the first time and I was very impressed! My EDC prior was a Glock 27 Gen 4 and the Shield blows it out of the water. The Shield was just a comfortable to shoot as my dad's Glock 22. I put about 150 rounds downrange and all went according to plan. 100 rounds were from Freedomuntion and the other 50 were some Winchester PDX1 that I've had laying around for the longest time.
My holster from SHTF also arrived a few days ago. Two days from when I ordered it to when it shipped. Two thumbs up to Clay and the rest of the SHTF team! I also put a set of Talon rubber grips on. I didn't shoot the gun prior to putting these on, but from just handling the gun they make a big difference.
Enjoy the pictures! For anyone on edge about purchasing the Shield, do it. This gun has without a doubt replaced my G27 as my EDC.
