Bought my first handgun a couple weeks ago, an OD green G-19.

Definitely want to give some major KUDOS to Wolf's range in Bristol.

They don't stock many guns, but if you know what you want, they can order it and have it pronto.

Before I did any business with them they looked me square in the eye and told me "we're not like some other gun stores in the area, and expect you to beat it once you buy your gun. We're going to sit down with you, take it apart, explain how it works, explain how to maintain it, the whole shebang, and give you an hours free range time." I knew right away I'd be buying my Glock from them.

Took it to the range today with a couple different types of ammunition to run through it, some 124gr 9mm ball I got at Samcoglobal.com, and some remington 147gr jhp that I've chosen as a potential defensive round.

Shot the first 50 rounds of the 9mm ball at 25 feet.

Then another 50 at 38 feet.

Then I shot a couple mags of the Remington 147gr JHP's which had significantly less report and recoil than the old FMJ ball "practice" ammo . All rounds fed and fired flawlessly.
One mag at 25' and one at 38'

By now I'm about 45 minutes into my free hour, and quite pooped, I've been kinda sick for a few days now. Sent another 50 rounds of the ball ammo down range, a little sloppy but there's 2 dead center, in my last volley of 10.

A few of the FMJ rounds, which were bargain basement priced, and manufactured in the late 80's , fired weakly, and caused some failure to cycle malfunctions. Other than that, the gun performed perfectly.

So far, I have to say I really like the Glock 19.

I have a couple of dozen handguns by numerous quality makers in many different platforms. If I had to give them all up but one, I'd keep the Glock 19.

Great choice. My first Glock was a 19. She is a 2nd generation that I will never part with.

Good luck.

Congrats! I love my "Baby Glock" G26, and miss my old G17. Lots of good times keeping the world safe from empty bottles with my G17. Simpler times. Good memories.

Congrats on the purchase of your G19. You won't regret buying this gun at all. I have a G26 that I plan on keeping many years. So far it's given me flawless performance. I doubt that this will be my last Glock either.

Enjoy your new Glock!

It's funny, before I bought this gun, my wife was saying "OK, after this we have enough hand guns, we don't need to get any more." I have a couple other pistols given to me by my dad, and a couple GSG-5's we bought for plinking a few months ago.

Then like 5 minutes after I brought it home and was showing it to her, she's handling it, racking the slide, commenting on it's weight, and "feel", lining up a sight picture, taking a couple dry fires, and she says " Wow, I really like this, I might want one of my own".....I just kept quiet and counted my blessings.

She liked it even more after trying it out at the range. She's definitely a "keeper". And so is the Glock!
