Bought my first handgun a couple weeks ago, an OD green G-19.
Definitely want to give some major KUDOS to Wolf's range in Bristol.
They don't stock many guns, but if you know what you want, they can order it and have it pronto.
Before I did any business with them they looked me square in the eye and told me "we're not like some other gun stores in the area, and expect you to beat it once you buy your gun. We're going to sit down with you, take it apart, explain how it works, explain how to maintain it, the whole shebang, and give you an hours free range time." I knew right away I'd be buying my Glock from them.
Took it to the range today with a couple different types of ammunition to run through it, some 124gr 9mm ball I got at Samcoglobal.com, and some remington 147gr jhp that I've chosen as a potential defensive round.
Shot the first 50 rounds of the 9mm ball at 25 feet.
Then another 50 at 38 feet.
Then I shot a couple mags of the Remington 147gr JHP's which had significantly less report and recoil than the old FMJ ball "practice" ammo . All rounds fed and fired flawlessly.
One mag at 25' and one at 38'
By now I'm about 45 minutes into my free hour, and quite pooped, I've been kinda sick for a few days now. Sent another 50 rounds of the ball ammo down range, a little sloppy but there's 2 dead center, in my last volley of 10.
A few of the FMJ rounds, which were bargain basement priced, and manufactured in the late 80's , fired weakly, and caused some failure to cycle malfunctions. Other than that, the gun performed perfectly.
So far, I have to say I really like the Glock 19.
