well i returned from Lake of the Ozarks and my girlfriend and I had a great trip!!! I just wanted to share my story and say thanks to all of the people of the this forum and i hope you all know how much help you are and how much I (and I'm sure others) appreciate all the input from everyone.
So to the trip...as you can see I'm from Illanoy and can't carry obviously, I just got my out of state PA permit. So nonetheless i was excited to hit that MO border to get my baby out and put it in my pocket. I live in southern Illinois so it was about a 4-5 hr drive to Osage Beach. So we took I-70W to STL and as soon as we crossed that border we stopped at a gas station and I was like a proud parent getting my gun out of my case and putting a mag in and racking one back. I just looked at my girlfriend and she had a big smile on her face. So i had a small fobus holster with me and was wearing cargo's so i just threw it in there for now.
We went to Tan-Tar-A resort and it was really nice and very reasonably priced (I think they were running specials that the lady found somewhere). So the first night we decided to eat at the hotel, heard they had a good restaurant, so i wore jeans and took out my MTAC holster and put it on. Of course i had to do the typical thing and ask my g/f a few times if she could see it and she said it looked fine. So we went and ate and then drove into town to go to a few retail shops. No one said a word and it all went great. (Don't worry I'm heading to Terre Haute, IN to see my brother next week so I plan on doing the wally world walk there, i have my map printed already :smile
We shopped and all that, I didn't buy too much just a few Harley shirts. BUT I did get a new holster for the G27. While walking and having the G27 in my cargo shorts the fobus holster was just too big and bulged alot. So i picked up an IWB leather Don Hume holster that was only $28 at Pistols Plus, I couldn't believe the price. It fit great and nicely in my cargo shorts and also now i have another IWB holster if need be.
All in all we had a great trip had no problems with LEO and nothing out of the ordinary come up. It was uneventful for the gun, but it was a blast carrying it. Overall great experience and can't wait to do it again!
